My car 93000km, still have around 7mm of fiction material left, so its possible. But still it is better to change as your old brake pads have gone through a number heat cycles, new pads will definitely improve braking!

Are all brake pads, be it performance or not come with a warning sound whenever you brake to tell you its about time to change brake pad?

I dun think all hv. Only some hv a layer of rough material to give a grinding sound when pads almost gone.

Some cars hv a warning light on dash wil come on also.

If yr screws or rivets touch e discs....its already too late. Yr disc damaged liow.

Thats why ty design pads wh grinding sound to frighten drivers to quickly go change pads.

Maybe thats why u needed change yr rotors b4.

I inspect my pads...inside n outside pads...when i know ty getting thin.

Once i see its abt 3mm i change asap.

Just wait for the warning lights to come on. Once the sensor in the pad hits the disc, it meas you have to change. If you wait for the screeching sound, it means its too late to save your discs as the screws have scored it already.
