Seat belt doesnt retract...

Just realised that my kiddo son, while seated in the rear, pulled the seat belt full length and now it doesnt retract...... kan ti tu....

 

anyone has any experience on this and how u resolved it eventually?

Mine had the same problem last time and I sent it to BM as mine was an Altis. The mech tried to fix it but to no avail and told me need to replace, costing some S$600+.........luckily it was under warranty.......

muscle power- pull, tug, and forcefully pull belt and hopefully it stretched and move the ratchet mechanism till the cam releases.

spring is jam.. you need to bring to workshop, they know how to solve it..

cost me RM30

So expensive for changing seat belt? Might as well change the whole car, right?

that's what the service guy told me and said I need to pay.......then I told him my ride was still under warranty and after checking, agreed that they will replace for me free. But BM only had 1 spare and it was at the Ubi outlet while I was at the Leng Kee side. I had to return to BM when they brought it over to Leng Kee......

yeah, that's likely to happen when you muscle pull the belt, the mechanism just snapped..
