Benarsenal Turbocharged March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 Guys, any advise on what is good to buy in OZ? Fish oil I already got it cheap cheap from GNC USA liao. Crumpler? I heard not cheap. What else? Go to Queen Victoria Market in the city. Is like a huge pasar malam. Shop until you drop. Things there quite cheap. Also quite accessible via train/tram. I bought bags and souvenirs there on my last trip. But IIRC, is closed on Mondays and Wednesdays. Most other days open till until after lunch only, so have to go in morning. ↡ Advertisement

Jman888 Moderator March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 I found that go vroomvroomvroom to rent from budget is cheaper than going to budget directly.... As some bro here recommended, I got myself a Ford XR6 at AUD326 for 6 days.... last time I also book XR6, in the end no car replace with Holden did you take up the full insurance ? Jman888 Moderator March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 Crumpler confirm not cheap! Home brand but more ex than SG.... If you have chance to go to their flea market, you might wanna look at their Leather jacket, provided you wear one, it's dirt cheap compare to SG... leather jacket? most likely become an elephant
Tjkbeluga 5th Gear March 13, 2013 Author Share March 13, 2013 last time I also book XR6, in the end no car replace with Holden did you take up the full insurance ? It says Loss Damage Waiver is included.... Is that it?
Jman888 Moderator March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 It says Loss Damage Waiver is included.... Is that it? they have few options, better read and see how comfortable you are, I know it is not cheap if fully covered. Alternative if you have travel insurance, it will cover up to certain amount but not all.
Opapa Neutral Newbie March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 You may want to try http://www.carrentals.com/. I normally use this web search to get the best deals when I want to visit Australia. It has a strange system- the price fluctuates from time to time. I will normally book it in advance and if there is a drop in price, I will rebook it and cancel the previous booking without penalty. Give it a try if you are interested.

This can be further reduces to AUD330 by getting Excess Reduction of 20+ a day.... pretty steep.

Shull Turbocharged March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 Their police are very strict, TP or Police can catch speedster or what ever funny thing you try to do, becareful of their speed cams, sure activate once u above the speed limit even by 1kph. Careful on the hook turns if there are any as well. Ditto to that.. but only in the state of Victoria.. the allowance is at most 1kmh, and in the sub urbs, the speed limit changes from 1 street to another street, so you have to watch for the speed limit signs rigorously. Shull Turbocharged March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 Budget is very popular, cheaper than Avis and Hertz. If need a GPS, cheaper to bring your own Garmin GPS (if you have one) to Australia, because to rent one in Australia is around AUD$10-$20 per day. http://www.budget.com.au/default.aspx?IATA...t%2Bhire%2Bcars Watch out for the infamous Hook Turn. Ahh.. this one, uniquely Melbourne..

Shull Turbocharged March 13, 2013 Share March 13, 2013 It says Loss Damage Waiver is included.... Is that it? When you collect the car, ask for the full coverage. When i rent the XR6 with Hertz, for additional AUD20-30 per day, i got the full insurance. In the hertz counter lady's words "If you get into any accident, just call us and we'll send another car to you. You won't need to pay for any excess charges."
