Vulcann 6th Gear February 27, 2013 Share February 27, 2013 The following is related to the thread on drunk-driving: Funny naive folks still wana try their luck... [shakehead] Good also to persecute these clowns and hopefully get them off the roads to make it safer for the rest of us and our loved ones. From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1256755/1/.html 16 suspects caught for drink-driving Posted: 27 February 2013 1319 hrs SINGAPORE: Traffic Police arrested 16 suspects for drink-driving during an island-wide operation on Wednesday morning. You're misinformed. Even for petty thefts, eg. shoplifting, the police is required to handcuff the suspect back to the station. It's part of their protocol. Taipan49 3rd Gear February 27, 2013 Share February 27, 2013 The driver wrote in the comments section on stomp that the guy registered at 34mg where the legal limit is not more than 35mg. Could be reason for no handcuffs?

Hahim Neutral Newbie February 27, 2013 Share February 27, 2013 Under the criminal procedure code, traffic offenders shall not be handcuffed unless turn violent or officers suspect he may escape from custody. Please read up. Penal offences and traffic offences are two different categories.

Bro, my apologies if I sound rude in my earlier post. Anyway, I don't recall seeing any pictures of actual arrests from ring fencing. The news reports are always so brief and have arrest numbers and police advice not to drink and drive. As for the pictures shown, seem that only have only those blowing into the breathalyzers, or file pictures. Eg, you can see the article on 16 motorists arrested last night for drink driving. Only have a picture of a woman driving blowing into a breathalyzer from inside her car. As you can read from the earlier posts, some shared actual experiences on no handcuffs for drink driving offences. Unless violent or assessed to be likely to run.
