If only he stopped and apologized to the other driver. Sinkie also blur when Ang moh say sorry..

Funny naive folks still wana try their luck... [shakehead] [shakehead]

Good also to persecute these clowns and hopefully get them off the roads to make it safer for the rest of us and our loved ones.

SINGAPORE: Traffic Police arrested 16 suspects for drink-driving during an island-wide operation on Wednesday morning.

not everyone also must be handcuffed lah.......unless they show signs of aggression or the circumstances required it.......... <_<

You're misinformed.

Even for petty thefts, eg. shoplifting, the police is required to handcuff the suspect back to the station.

It's part of their protocol.

The driver wrote in the comments section on stomp that the guy registered at 34mg where the legal limit is not more than 35mg. Could be reason for no handcuffs?

drunk by 11am.......really steady man!!! His job is a wine-taster??? [:p][laugh]

A wine taster will never allow oneself to get intoxicated.

And they usually do not drink the samples - small sip, .. swirl inside mouth, .. sensory buds.

Then drink plenty of water to 'cleanse' the taste buds, no?

Nope, I'm not misinformed. My unit has brought someone to a station without any cuffs needed. -_-

Neutral Newbie

Under the criminal procedure code, traffic offenders shall not be handcuffed unless turn violent or officers suspect he may escape from custody. Please read up. Penal offences and traffic offences are two different categories.

But hor, he can still be prosecuted as he was involved in accident whilst he still has alcohol in his system, even if not over legal limit.

But why never handcuff? Thought it's SOP for everyone who kena?

Just inpound his work permit and passport before he attempted funny disappearing act.

He has many FT pals waiting for him in the high security Changi hotel.

Cannot work and have suck thumb while his employer decide his fate before police investigation is over.

Bro, my apologies if I sound rude in my earlier post.

Anyway, I don't recall seeing any pictures of actual arrests from ring fencing. The news reports are always so brief and have arrest numbers and police advice not to drink and drive. As for the pictures shown, seem that only have only those blowing into the breathalyzers, or file pictures. Eg, you can see the article on 16 motorists arrested last night for drink driving. Only have a picture of a woman driving blowing into a breathalyzer from inside her car.

As you can read from the earlier posts, some shared actual experiences on no handcuffs for drink driving offences. Unless violent or assessed to be likely to run.
