Only in Singapore, authorities need to reply to such crap! In USA the secret service will ask the LTA warden or police to step aside. Obviously the armoured Merc needs to have a clear path for a quick exit from the location should an incident happen. If parked in the lot, how many seconds will it take to maneuver out of the lot! If the lta warden whom I assume is Malaysian from Johor saw a car plate with TMJ or F1 or JOHOR, would he even dare to summon.

Nowadays LTA wardens are quite lenient, if one moves off quickly they also won't issue summons. They just want to keep roads clear of unauthorised parking. In this case, I suspect the security detail gave the warden the "do you know who I am" attitude and hence the media reported this news.

For sure the security detail is not above the law. But they do have considerable leeway. Parking In this manner should not even be an issue to be taken up. Prinsep street isn’t that narrow and the number of cars going through is also relatively light. The warden probably needs to be better informed. Just like the other post of the warden going to summon the police car! I find it rather ridiculous. Even if the police car was stopped to tabao food, I’ll give the guys in blue a break. Mkl22 Supersonic December 24, 2017 Share December 24, 2017 I just find certain rule here archaic. Just like the recently revised rule of ambulances beating the red light. I Cant say that I have heard of police cars overseas having to put a sign saying that they are on duty so that they can stop by the roadside. Thus I say Singaporeans are a petty bunch.
Benarsenal Turbocharged December 24, 2017 Share December 24, 2017 I think must have a fair compromise. While we shouldn't impede officers from doing their jobs, we must also be careful that it doesn't become such that they abuse the privilege. It's a fine balancing act really. No it is because someone took pictures of the lta wardens and President car and it spread in social media Lao leh. So of coz media will have to report this news Lao lor. Sometimes I feel public also abit too much, little bit complain Lao. Worst is don't even know the full story and just happened to be there say 30 seconds, saw something happening and quite interesting and take picture or video and post on social media and spread. It makes relevant agencies busy for nothing sometimes. We are moving towards reactive society which is no good. So we people also need to give and take sometimes especially when don't know the whole situation is about.

BenTong Turbocharged December 25, 2017 Share December 25, 2017 (edited) Actually the law and sop don’t have clarity.. if clear such situation will not even arise.. btw who sets the law in the first place.. dumbz! Terrylmt Supercharged December 25, 2017 Share December 25, 2017 I think it is fair to say/conclude that what's done is already done, and we have established that while in the eyes of the enforcer, all are equal - we won't really know how it is processed once in the system. The fact that there is action carried out, be it for show or not, it is still at least action being taken. Let's all just move along, as there will be no end to the conspiracy theories and assumptions. Not unless we have someone from Certis Cisco here that can validate the fine was paid!
