I used to only pump caltex 98 for my rx8. Made a world of difference.
but when cc goes up smlj brand doesn’t matter. Unless every gear you foot to the floor then maybe can detect.

I would say that high compression engines need high octane petrol. For the rest with compression ratio 11 and below, RON95 will do.

Pretty much.

Actually what's stopping you from trying Sinopec? It will be interesting to compare between SPC 95 and Sinopec 95. Esp when you have a very sensitive, or rather talented butt [laugh]

Sinopec too far from my usual routes, that’s why I don’t go.

I pumped X Power some years ago in my ex car. Didn’t really feel any difference also

I highly doubt it is the exact same product.

Same fuel/base product yes, but perhaps due to proprietary/ reasons, less additives are added, hence less fc and performance.

It is the same as Shell, same Colour, same Smell...Sinopac only have 2 Stations....too much cost..if have Own Addtives & Refinery.

Nah. It’s more to do with absolute power.  When no power every bit of extra power you feel it. When you have excess power you don’t care if that 10-20hp is lost.

Neutral Newbie

I cycle between sinopec 95, spc 95 and caltex 95, tbh don't feel a difference between all 3.

Mileage wise also similar, 10.2km/l. Car is tuned with 10.1 compression ratio.

Didn't feel a difference with Shell/Petronas Ron97 in MY either.

Petron's Ron100 felt really good though, like the pedal was more "solid".

Value wise hard to beat sinopec given you can use any cc plus the x card earns points that can be used to offset future fuel ups. Pair with a 4mpd card, it's the most value for money.

Yesterday I noticed the service attendant standing nonchalantly at the adjacent pump with arm folded. He looked at me. I looked at him. I look at the red marking.  I proceed to (DIY) self pump.  😁

This will pave the way towards increase in unemployment

🤦🏻‍♀️

IMHO it is a waste of resources to have such a job. many overseas countries  do away with pump attendants. i rather have more discount that having someone assist me. even 1cent cheaper also can.
