everyone in the whole world depends on it and have to pay, be it less or more its still $$. so the only true way is to depend on yourself.

Why petrol so expensive when oil price isn't that high!!!!

the last article mention because of middle man. The prices are high. The tax was also adjusted

Petrol / oil prices sometimes wrongly hedge like Airline industry can cause major losses.

Where were you when they increased the petrol tax?

I did some calculations a while back and it suggested that the petrol companies do adjust petrol price according to crude fluctuations (obviously sticky downwards) but the bulk of the increase was due to the increase in government taxes.

The government would like you to think the petrol companies are charging you exorbitant prices (they might be making supernormal profits) but they don't tell you that the land cost in Singapore is a big part of it as well.

The land for a petrol station in siao lang yishun Ave 1 was 40 mil and another in Yishun Ave 9 was awarded for 79 mil. Money goes from the petrol companies to the govt but how do you think they will seek to recoup it?

That doesn't mean we have to like it though. Otherwise it is just stockholm syndrome.

It is still important to understand why the petrol costs are so high instead of blindly blaming the petrol companies.

Disclaimer: I don't work for any of the petrol companies hor  :D

agree..

Any solution ?

Thats why its easy for us to LLST while things seems fine but is not.

And the mass majority just "try" to understand and big thing "try" to make it small thing and Small stuff becomes no problem.

Some times its easier to using what we have infront of us and focus on moving forward. while in our minds we are cusing something in hokkien that sounds like marina Bay
