Maseratigood 5th Gear February 21, 2013 Share February 21, 2013 this i totally agree..... the first part of shortlisting by the HR department is quite crucial as they must get the right candidates....then comes to the HOD to select the right people for the job.... If the HR guys, or HOD are non-local, a key deciding factor for shortllisting or even final selection could well be the village from which the candidates come from :-) :-) 同乡好商量 ↡ Advertisement

Fuelsaver Supercharged February 21, 2013 Share February 21, 2013 (edited) i think Ender said it all.. to most local bosses.. the super performance might be those power PLP... my work place also the same.. the guy we help (force to because we want the project to move) who happen to be very good at PLP but dont get things done one keep promoting cooperate n report to top. no choice but i do that at times to show WHO is really contributing. n mass email counts! therefore, i not back stab but front stab. Fuelsaver Supercharged February 21, 2013 Share February 21, 2013 It's the job of a boss to motivate and to lead. I think this survey is flawed. It only serves to drive the wrong impression that employees are to blame for poor performance. I believe every employee is good at something. It's only how one is able to fit the persons interests and capabilities to the job. It's also how one motivates and leads the employee. How many super performers are there? Even if he/she can do the job of 4 or 5, how long can this super performer keep this up? Would this super performer need to work 12 hours a day? my definition of boss is one who pays someone to motivate and lead.
Fuelsaver Supercharged February 21, 2013 Share February 21, 2013 When we were students, you think everyone in the class is top student?(Unless you come from a top school lah). Let's say on average. Students in the class got good students, got slow learning students, got average students and top students. Nobody is perfect mah. Bosses are also not perfect beings what. Do you get 100% perfectly good bosses? rule of the game - whoever has most money talks loudest. at most we can only fry them cuttlefish.
Kklee 6th Gear February 21, 2013 Share February 21, 2013 I would think the people who hires the bad hires are bad hires. I may have lost touch, I thought that when hiring, there is some probation period or there is some performance appraisal in place. If my company, I would keep quiet about it. Neoscan Clutched March 7, 2013 Share March 7, 2013 Some knows how to play office politics well juz need to work 30% only but still get promoted... Obliviously that is the universal truth in life. Which is why we always encountered the effect of racism and sexual prejudices on individual annual appraisal review despite the clear result-based performance achieved every year. Who doesn't love a boot-licker who is also a problem solver.
Tigershark1976 Turbocharged March 10, 2013 Share March 10, 2013 Super performer are targetted for promotion and managerial position..
