Achtung 6th Gear March 9, 2013 Share March 9, 2013 sometimes, I find arguments here are senseless. yes u r very roght to say... everything is relative. to each his own! Peace out guys! Anyway "better" is relative, to each his own. ↡ Advertisement

We are comparing between silver and green caps. Anyway, the green caps are the ones able to give advance fuel economy but giving the same protection just like the rest or even better especially compared to the silver caps. From here it seems to be a newer and more advance oil. Comparing specs to specs with the gold and silver, the green caps still better then the other two. Gold caps only enable long usage. 1. Maybe you are just comparing between silver and green caps. It doesn't mean 'we' are aligned with your thoughts here. 2. Please check product data sheet before making your comments. The engineering knowledge behind it is more than the number of 'ticks' shown on the packaging itself. 3. Comparing Mobil1 AFE 0W-30 and its nearest counterpart Mobil1 Extended Performance 5W-30. Mobil1 EP has better technical performance in almost every aspect, which includes Viscosity Index, Sulfated Ash wt%, Flash Point and TBN. If you are not convinced by the product data spec published by Mobil1, you can always search for VOA and UOA data on Bitog and make a comparison. 4. New doesn't always mean it is better. AFE is a mid range product serving its purpose, and it is on the market not to replace EP. EP is still the top tier product from Mobil. So are you saying newer Nissan Almera is better than older Nissan Teena? 5. Back to the topic. Mobil1 AFE is a good choice for bread and butter cars, its performance is more than sufficient to cater most needs. However, i think misleading info as mentioned by bros should be corrected. Apologise. You need not aligned your thoughts to mine and yes I am comparing only the silver and green caps. I am just stating what it is suitable for myself. When I was Giant, I bought the green caps becasue it is better then the silver caps. Why bring in the gold caps and it is never in my topic coz Giant is not selling it. As for the green caps, I prefer to it than the silver caps because it make my car more fuel efficient provided it is true and I change engine oil frequently so I do not need others. Anyway, these oils of different coloured caps have different characteristic and uses and I chose what suit me best. I also think gold caps are better becasue it is more ex but Giant not selling it. Anyway, please link me to the website that states that the gold caps are the best among the three so next time I know what to buy. Thanks. After using about 14k km, power and smoothness seems to be the same from 0k km till 14k km. Previously using Amsoil and SHU. Can feel the need to change engine oil after 6-7k km.
