Desmojon 1st Gear May 19, 2013 Share May 19, 2013 Yah.. I remember my jap cars' oil filters cost like $12-15 only. There's an oem brand, yellow and green box.. I think selling for like $18 Yellow and green should be Mann Filter.

Saabretooth 2nd Gear May 19, 2013 Share May 19, 2013 this is a rare beauty...at 130k ouch. I am hoping that when the Manual Brera 3.2 is up for sale, I am ready for it. or I could wait for 4C, though I think that is for a new generation of Alfisti. Upsilon Clutched May 19, 2013 Share May 19, 2013 this is a rare beauty...at 130k ouch. At 16k depreciation, is the price reasonable considering the COE is so low?
Upsilon Clutched May 19, 2013 Share May 19, 2013 I bought from stockist before. Think $27 thereabouts. Why not this? It's cheaper and suppose to be better http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/HP-7000-K-N-OIL...#ht_3482wt_1002
Upsilon Clutched May 19, 2013 Share May 19, 2013 Yellow and green should be Mann Filter. Tanly selling a brand, technotec I think. Yellow and green box too, cost just $6 or $7 for 147. Mann should cost more, read about it, seems pretty highly rated.
Theoldjaffa Hypersonic May 19, 2013 Share May 19, 2013 Yellow and green should be Mann Filter. Don't remember it to be Mann.. I saw it at AS also. Can't remember the exact name but I used it before.
Desmojon 1st Gear May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 Wah, if the green and yellow box is $6-$7, the cost at workshop can buy about 6 of these filters.

Chrispie 5th Gear May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 (edited) ok.. while waiting for toey to swing by ... i have some issues with the car now, see if you guys can make out what it is. 1. At idle, the engine purr isnt constant.. it is lie : drom drom drom drom 2. Rather high pitch whirling sound from the engine bay, sounds like its near the driver side, behind the steering rack, near the front right wheel housing. When i switch off the engine, the whirl continues for a split second and slows down.. (sounds like it is due to some shaft slowing down as engine is killed) 3. When engine is running.. there is a loud hissing also.. sounds like gas escaping 4. No CEL 5. Car drives ok.. though i do feel some slight wobble at low speed. Desmojon 1st Gear May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 Sounds like a vacuum hose along air intake side leak. The leak is after the MAF. So idling is not smooth. Or maybe PV valve leak.

Desmojon 1st Gear May 20, 2013 Share May 20, 2013 That is my guess from description, very hard to say. Better not drive just in case it is the brake vaccum hose.

Do the "pull out the dipstick" trick see if the howling stops .. think now really is the PCV diaphragm tear. I drove around with the noise for 1 month+ until the revs started to go oscillate between 1000-4000rpms on its own, then I stopped driving .. The diaphragm is under the cap indicated below, $150 fix .. Edited May 20, 2013 by Count_duku ↡ Advertisement
