I thought your next trip is up north in Amsterdam?

I only did Venice and Rome.

had to skip Florence due to some adjectival travel buddy....

You have to manage your expectations in Roma.

Especially the Forum.

Everything is in ruins.

Even the guide book said "with a LOT of imagination, u can see..."

I was very disappointed.

Think the structures in Greece are still standing rt?

But got little gems along the way like Bocca Della Verita. lol

Vatican City is good too.

Met an Argentinian on his pilgrimage to Napoli on the train.

He was like Maradona this Maradona that.

The gf told me they worship him like a god back home.

Not to mention the Mafia eh.

I guess a day trip to Pompeii should be in order too?

Yes it is - Italy can wait till later :)

This is a nice drive if you get the chance

Noticed your route went pass Heidelberg and Stuttgart. Any recommendations what's there?

Been to Heidelberg due to business, it was a hit and run then. Never really explored the town except for this "Ritter" restaurant/hotel and the cathedral

I'm going again this June.

Planned to visit the Merc and Porsche classics Museum in Stuttgart.

Booked a drive on the Nurburgring.

Anything I missed?

last time checked.. wasnt told ARB got issue...

so many could be.. never ending.

I really damn sian liao.. just drive.

So what is the opinion of the mechanic about this knocking sound?

What I did last time is to disconnect one link and drive on uneven roads. I heard no more knocking sound which confirms it is the links that are worned.

OK Stuttgart - Porsche and MB museums. Both worth a visit. Can do both in a day easily As you plan Otherwise not really.

Nurnburg beautiful - it is where Germans go to visit whilst the tourists go to Munich. Gorgeous old city and the German National Museum is there. Well worth visiting and not overrun with coachloads of package tourists.

Down the road is Rothenburg - the most intact Meadieval city in former W Germany. Again worth visiting and stay at Mittermeier BnB

This suspension linkage ("dogbone" as it is shaped like one) isn't too expensive if you source it online. Easy to shipped too due to its small size.

My bonnet linkage arrived today bought from SGS about 10 days ago. Took a while to fix but better have one more person to help support the bonnet. One old strut is not strong enough to hold the bonnet up as I try to fix the new one on the other side. [laugh]

The new struts are very strong too. Pushed the bonnet up so strongly that it reached the top with a "thud".

Neutral Newbie

Yes spent a few days there last year. Stayed in Aix, visited Avignon, Nice and then on to St Emilion and Bordeaux for a few days. Rather lovely part of world - a blend of good food, wine, rolling hills and ancient cities. Ticks most of my boxes.

If you want a really special place to stay then here is where we stayed near St Emilion

http://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/Hotel_Review..._Aquitaine.html

Family owned and run, we ahd the run of the place. One of the daughters fresh bakes croissants every morning..........this was a typical breakfast

Bordeaux is SO beautiful - it is called the Paris of the South for good reason. Wife spent whole day and filled suitcases in one shopping trip in main shopping strip in Bordeaux. Clothes SO cheap and so nice there compared to Sillypore. I prefer Italian fashion so didnt buy myself

Did u visit any vineyard when u were in Bordeaux? Btw, can those in southern France understand English? I got pte ltd French.. :p

Actually why just France ah?

Amsterdam will be a good bet and Salzburg too!!!

Unless it's like never go before then prolly worth doing once a lifetime

That said, going back after 10yrs may yield surprises too eh

Ok

I'm back in my can- cannot mode. Lol

France has always been a special country to me. It was the 1st 'official' trip overseas for me as a holiday. & the first time I fly away so far all by myself. I was 27 at that time. Then I only spend the whole trip in Paris living like a Parisien. It was my window to see Europe. Ever since then, I hv visited other cities in Europe. This yr I was thinking y not revisit France again? After all, I hv nvr seen other parts of france apart fr Paris. & yes, to bring back my memories of that country, I making a solo trip again this time. Always need some time for myself to clear my mind, stay away fr those phone calls, emails, & any1 whom I know. Hahaha, very anti social huh? :p

Cheeky.

My fuel pump is changed at 2.5 yr mark under 2nd owner warranty scheme (reduce mileage).

No not antisocial - I can relate to that. In our high stress lives and work it is important to have time for oneself. Enjoy :)
