Those who say Alfa sucks have not driven the 3.2 V6 Busso GTA with its Selespeed Gearbox.

Yap, there are always faster cars, but most of them boring.

hehe... its our secret....

Better still with a manual box GJ?

And if you ever have any doubts - just go to Europe (Milan) PU an AR from AVIS with manual box and go drive up around the Swiss border............nah, nothing boring about the ride :)

There's just something about the down shifting with the selespeed and Busso that gets to you.... and that roar when you do a pull or that growl when it engine brakes....

I'd vote it the best looking V6 engine in the world.

And among the top 3 or 5 best sounding engine.

Currently driving a 159 (2009) model.

Thinking of buying a 2007-2008 147 hatch for my retired dad. Probably looking for manual version.

Should I get the 1.6 or 2.0 ??? Lastly any feedback on this car?

More or less problematic compared to 159 [laugh] ???

Hehe comments appreciated

hi bro Toeyritztt, are you currently on coilovers? any FR if you are? [:)]

Yup, was on V2..now on V1 :D ... most of my previous rides were on coilovers too. Given the heavy chassis of the 159, a suspension/sports springs setup is good enuf but for only a short while, afterwhich it'll starts to bottom-out quite regularly on our gigantic humps on the roads! I've tried almost all suspensions setup - Sachs, Eibachs, Bilsteins...but alas I still find the coilovers are the best option for our ride. Height-adjustable are good (like KW V1), Dampening adjustables will be an added bonus, which can be alil too much if you're not into tracking or hard drivings... so, for me....best bet would be the KW, Bilstein PSS9 is good but expensive. Gives you good, firm handling all the time. Alternatives would be the APi, K-Sports and another 1-2 other brands..proven to be impressively good for the VW & Audi owners.. I'm anticipating for the arrival of my trial set soon...and will FR here, once tried and tested... [thumbsup]

many thanks for the feedback! i wouldn't really need height adjustable, just basic coil-overs would be good enough, could you direct me to where i can can get stock for the V2? [sly]

I concur with you. Been on KW V1 for more than 4 yrs. Adjust height to suit my needs, comfortable and good enough for me given the price. Absolutely no regrets despite the occasional "toink" noise. Went on NSHW, Genting, Lake Kenyir, and many places up North, great roadhoading. -_-

You see, with a Selespeed, on the track, you can really pretend to be an F1 driver. B roads are a joy... The GTA's changes very nice and fast.. the 159s.... oh well....

u know, after what u guys wrote abt driving alfas, and what i've experienced in the past 5 months as a new alfa driver, makes me NOT regret buying my dear mito. my gosh what if i did buy that scirocco after all. yuck. there's so many of them on the road now, throw stone also hit one.

there is a problem with the mito tho, its ride height is way too high, remedied that with eibach springs ha ha ha.
