Anyone use before 15W40 engine oil on their car

Never trusted this so called packages. I always purchase my own oil or parts for servicing.

Thanks for sharing, this one time bad experience will prompt me to get my own oil for next servicing, any WS to recommend. I staying at bishan area, diff WS charge diff for labour cost. what is the standard charges?

Almost all cars uses w40 oil, don't really need to care about the front digit as it's more for countries with 4 season.

JB offer 50rm for mineral and filter for protons, I believe. $58 for fully syn, I dont believe, better change at 5000km. Multi-grade is not fully syn hor.

Been 2days after changing of the engine oil to 15W40, so far all ok as usual. Realise the car run much more smooth but acceleration wise , respond more slow should be due to the thickness of the oil. My car tend to have vibration when moving off from traffic light, specially when I accelerate hard. With this 15W40 the vibration reduce quite a lot.

 

Shall monitor for the times to come
