Can't believe this could happen. Last time was a Toyota or Lexus in the US?

Can't even turn off the engine?

off engine more dangerous -_-

Looks like the system in France is very well co-ordinated...from this incident, it seems that all parties worked together to prevent a horrific crash from happening....

i'm guessing can't off engine cos it's prob those push start buttons, e-brake prob an elec. button as well, then the rest all drive-by-wire controls...

u can't shift to D1 when high speed btw. the electronics will prob override your choice and keep it in a high gear. same thing that you can put it into reverse.

While uncontrollably speeding through the fast lane as other cars swerved out of his way,

this type of situation will not happen in singapore cos in SG those road hoggers on lane 1 (aka fast lane) will stop him in his tracks before he could hit 100km/h

The article mentioned he is driving a Renualt which is specially adapted for the disabled. So it could be those which are hand driven.

Anyway, the speed aside, the article also said he had 2 seizures during when his car was racing away. That's very scary. Am curious how he was able to control his car when the seizures struck

more likely the TP will book that driver who is speeding @ 200km/h instead of coordinating the rescue operation :D
