In other words plywood were used instead of solid plank of wood. Ms Saw should know better. Want to cut cost and increase profit margin, use sub-standard wood.

Inferior parts dont last as long as proper ones? Maybe in the original design, the specifications/contracts asked for proper material, but actual construction somehow didn't follow them.

Maybe not because of inferior parts but more of other deep issues that till now they still did not figure out what is the root of problem. I mean it can be they thought they found the root cause of the problem, but in fact it is not the problem they identify is the root cause of it. [laugh] [laugh]

If not why for past 1yr plus breakdown keep occurring and becoming more and more frequent, plus they said they identify some problem and fixing it, but meanwhile it does not show much improvement. So maybe there is more to look into the real root cause of problem.

To be fair to her, construction of the mrt line was way before the SMRT took over operation. It'should be LTA here for not looking hard enough,

As an example- if I don't maintain my car properly sooner or later its parts will become sick one after another. To make good ali the accumulated faults due to neglects over the years, I have to send it to the workshop and take weeks to fix the faults, or may even have to write it off!! To do the same to our train system could be a political suicide for those involved. Can mrt afford to shut down for a few weeks or write off a chunk of the system even though technically it may be the way to go? [:(]
