Either I have amnesia or you are trolling. And you said I'm insulting ? It's Friday leh, no trolling please .. [wave]

No issues.. lets take it as a miscomms... also on the "insult" part, its a metephorical expression directed to your comparison not you. I m exhausted having to explain all these nuances in expressions! I shall post better i guess....

One thing I do hate in Japan is their weak aircon even during summer time... Peak hour can be really warm in the train...

If you complain, think about London. Until a few years ago, the London underground do not even have aircon. But to be fair, there are like 2 weeks of hot days in the whole year there.

Neutral Newbie

The other time I took MRT, there are cabins without seats right? I thought it was a good idea. Maybe can have more seatless cabins during peak hours sure can squeeze more people in.

Have also seen it before, almost the whole train is seat-less, only the front 2 cabins of the train has seats. So spacious and everybody has a place to stand in a dignified manner!

Personally if people crowd at the doors and I see that there are spaces at the back, I would just bo chup and squeeze my way through with a super loud "Excuse Me". Don't want people to bump into you then move in lor, simple as that! (Of course must be careful of where your hands are especially if you are a guy)

There was once a group of PRC was standing at the door, happily chit chatting, totally blocking off one door. At the station where I was alighting, they were even playing a fool and pushing one another out of the train until the doors were closing to trap them outside. I immediately told them off and stomped out of the train as I was sibei dulan and stressed from work

GNN [furious] [furious] [furious]

Stuck at Raffles Place again this evening. Both East Bound and North bound trains just stop there with doors open and trains not moving. Can see lots of people stepped out and in the end fed up and went back up. Presumably they went off to look for other transport alternative. Almost every evening have to deal with such unpleasant squeeze and guess what there is news about reviewing fare increase soon. [furious][whip]

Just a thought - If inferior composite wood was used prior to replacement, breakdowns due to cracks on tracks would hv occur long time ago, not just in recent years...

now replacing composite wood with solid wood? who is paying for it?

Ya why last time no problem with tracks, but nowadays keep happening. [speechless] [speechless]

Think SMRT and SBS transit still did not find the root cause of problem and keep replacing the broken parts, which yes it's broken. But what is the root cause of problem that causes it??

Serious allegation

Donno whether is real or not

Nowadays got many fake information on the Internet <_<

http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/eat-drin...er-4323322.html

Composite wood is good, look at IKEA, almost all the furniture uses composite wood, lighter and less dense, cheaper.....but usually cannot last long [sweatdrop] maybe a year or 2.

However composite wood will definitely be better in the absorption of vibration and thus reduce noise and vibration.

The concern is the lifespan and is there any preventative maintenance to routinely change those track bed.

Look in the mirror lor. Who else? (Unless you're driving, and don't need to use EZ-Link for transportation purposes)

Inferior parts dont last as long as proper ones? Maybe in the original design, the specifications/contracts asked for proper material, but actual construction somehow didn't follow them.
