Mach7 Clutched February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 Hi fellow motorist, I observed Shell recently has removed the price tag for fuel in all its fuel station. There were price tags for 95/98/V-Power indicated on their electronic board. I wonder the reason why?? ↡ Advertisement

Kusje Supersonic February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 Shell official reason : http://www.shell.com.sg/products-services/...ice-boards.html I use EM but this Shell explanation is the biggest load of BS!
Sabian Turbocharged February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 The reason given is bs. I never pump shell since I started driving. Somehow not fated bec the credit cards I have tie up with caltex/ spc/ esso.
Othello Supersonic February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 seriously I've never looked at the prices when I pump petrol. What's the point? As if they have different prices .... For me, I've pumped BP ever since I started driving, and SPC when BP exited
Myxilplix Turbocharged February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 Price boards are rubbish anyway because the fuel prices here are set by the cartel and fixed. They would only be useful if everyone sold fuel at different prices, like in some other countries. I never understood the logic of the boards, even during the "discount wars" period. Givechance 1st Gear February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 All branfs fuel same price, EXACTLY. The price board is totally useless, unlike other countries where there is real competition leading to different pricese at different locations. XLR8 1st Gear February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 No brainer. Every station also similar price. The board serves no purpose.
Mcfguy 1st Gear February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 (edited) It's only good for you to see the ups and downs of petrol prices everyday you drive pass. For the last 3 weeks, the prices was adjusted up at least 4 times for Shell95. Nowadays upand down suka suka like stock market. No annoucements made. Vhtfhwlego Supercharged February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 Everytime I pass Shell I will feel very happy. Because seeing the pump price makes me feel so rich as I have better discounts from Esso.
WTF 4th Gear February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 Why the need to have pump prices displayed when you go to the station to pump? If I were to visit the station for petrol, it's because I need to fill up my tank. I can't say wait till price drop then I go pump else I will be Flintstone liao. Have jumped fr Shell to Esso many moons ago.....

Givechance 1st Gear February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 The only time I use shell, was last year when I was collecting the Lego Ferrari toy cars. Other then that, I only pump Esso.

Jokerd 2nd Gear February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 I think in other countries where there are private petrol stations and price differences event between same brand petrol, the price board is useful. However in SG, where every station is by the brand and everyone has the same price, might not be much use. Most people have a prefered brand, price difference is not a pull factor... Darryn Turbocharged February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 stations here very inefficient.. should do the Boleh land style where no discount, just pay at pump and go...is so much faster ↡ Advertisement
