yes, probably moved the clip to below the pad after the 2nd pad they replaced produced screeching sound whenever I braked, as you know the clip will touch the wheel only when the pad wears out. So I have no idea why for new pads, the wheel screeched, out of the 4 pads, 1 clip was still at the bottom because the top part nipple to hold the clip in 1 of the pad was sand off, so now when brake in forward movement no more tuck sound, but when reversed there is, sound complicated? I am still trying to figure out why, because the pads supposed to have 2 spring clips 1 on top and 1 below correct? But the mechanic told me the previous cars when he had changed brake pads, the clips are on top and I never ask him how many clips per pad for my car model.

Why recon? Go for the real deal. Most of the 'recon' sets on the market are likely taiwan/China made sets and just slapped on with whatever brands the local distributor requests for.

if you buying recon might as well get directly from taobao. all these are just replicas.

better to go for those cheaper taiwan brands or even local CJ dynamics for quality assurance.
