Change the car la. Don't bother sounding it out anymore.

not my ideal COE price at the moment, going to sound it out at MG during next servicing. Actually thinking back, regretted not letting them do the skimming and change the brake pads, just to save the mere $100+, now after all these, already cost more than that..

It is possible the kuku workshop have sold you some dunno from where brake pads that couldnt fit. So they removed the shims to make it fit but it could not fit snugly. That is why I am suggesting you get back either original or OEM pads plus the shim kit. Never go back to this kuku workshop ever again.

Today went for servicing and requested to check on my brake pads, indeed there were no more shims on the pads. The spring clips according to the mechanic should be on top of the brake pad but they were placed at the bottom. Googled abit, there supposed to be 2 spring clips per pad, 1 top and 1 bottom? Anyway, he told me usually the clips are on top because of the forward movement of the wheel, so he placed back on top, as for the shim, will have to monitor first if the sound return, so far no sound when I drove back, hopefully the issue will be finally resolved.

Clips should be top and bottom.... as per manufacturer design:

Okie ic

Proper original shim and also correct brake grease between shim and pad, shim and caliper is critical to prevent noise.

Woohoo fixed! I was right! I’m the brake specialist! Hahahhahaahhahahaha.

joking aside. The workshop that installed the pads must be incompetent.
