13177 Hypersonic February 2, 2013 Share February 2, 2013 i'd accept it since it's not my son's fault that he is gay. i won't go disowning him or anything extreme. genes play a part and they're just living the cards that have been dealt to them.... Not many people believe genes play a part in determining a person is gay ot not. Many people still think gay is an illness which can be cure?! XWD Neutral Newbie February 2, 2013 Share February 2, 2013 I was driving in the morning and was on Class 95 FM. Flying Dutchman was on this topic of gay policies in SG. He asked this question: What if your 15 yr old child comes to you one day and say "I'm gay". What and how will you reply? I was thinking abt this while driving, and I decided that my response to this question is to drop my kid from whatever unit floor we are staying. And if I'm staying in landed property, i will bloody run over him in the driveway. Tough question. But one side of the equation would be, as a parent, you wouldn't want to loose a child permanently over such an issue. It's painful alright, but having a child run off never to come back is even more painful. I recall a friend sharing about this beautiful response, that he would lovingly tell his child that a) he/she is still loved as a son/daughter but b) the parents disagree with his/her choice in life and cannot support any aspect of his/her life relating to this, lastly c) the door to return is always open for advice and sharing. In my opinion, the above response is balanced, firm and not confrontational.
XWD Neutral Newbie February 2, 2013 Share February 2, 2013 I'll tell him that the correct sentense should be :"I'm happy. Happy and gay may mean the same thinn but there's actually another meaning for gay which I will explain wen you are older" Then I'll pray REEEEAAAALLLLL hard that he didn't mean gay-gay but happy-gay Sadly, in this day and age, it's already very commonly known that "gay" ain't referring to "happy". Sosaria Twincharged February 2, 2013 Share February 2, 2013 Act being filial is more important..some married liao dun even go bk visit parents.. Yup, end of the day, when we are old and feeble... who cares gay son or not. The best son is the one that takes care of you in your old age.

Thaiyotakamli Supersonic February 2, 2013 Share February 2, 2013 yeah man. if i have a son, i better start young and bring him to a "tour of duty" in Geylang. Its better for him to get interested in gals in early age than to be a freaky gay. I will tell him "you can sow your seeds in whatever you like, but always wear helmet". show them more P0rn during his puberty
Thaiyotakamli Supersonic February 2, 2013 Share February 2, 2013 do u prefer to have a gay child or prefer them to be killed in a road junction? your choice. ppl want their children back, they cant....and here ppl want to kill/throw their children out for being gay. LOL so bring them to usa to register marriage and throw a banquet?
Donut Supercharged February 2, 2013 Author Share February 2, 2013 Whatever our response is, we got to think about this issue carefully now, because the govt is raising this gay rights issue again. But this gay rights issue is been passed in parliament, our future kids will be exposed to this alternative lifestyle. They will be taught in schools that been gay is all right and nothing is wrong. It will intrude into the moral issues.

But at the very least, in Civics and Moral Education, kids should be taught to be accepting of all kinds and not discriminate.

Alechi 2nd Gear February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 (edited) that's the unfortunate thing. it's like guys are guys. girls are girls. nothing in between. but the fact is, in nature there are always exceptions. So very rare cases are physiological. Most if you trace are predominantly due to nurture, environment, etc ... Let a child grow up with monkeys and he will show you how to swing from tree to tree. Let a child live in an environment where obese is regarded as beautiful and he will grow up genuinely feeling that way too - think African tribes. If u catch my drift, these LGBTs are predominantly unfortunately afflicted in one way or another by way of their nurture and environment mostly very early in life and for prolonged periods. They have these warped and perverse inclinations, but they "genuinely" believe they were inherently like that. Much like a drunk man insisting he's not drunk. Look at France who just passed the law legalising gay marriages and adoptions. I really pity the adopted kids. They have no choice and will inevitably grow up in a family where both parents are male or female. In turn these supposedly normal kids will grow up warped in their sexual identity as well. Mark my words, the decision by this country will usher in an era of perverted decadence and bring about the beginning of the end of the country, quickening its downfall. Wind30 Turbocharged February 14, 2013 Share February 14, 2013 I dunno whether there is such a thing as born gay but I think a lot of gay ppl suffer some kind trauma when young be it physical or sexual abuse that got them sexually disorientated. Maybe after they were abused they feel that being in their current gender they are being vulnerable so they try to be the opposite sex. I dun really know. But I saw on tv many suffer got history of family abuse when young which lead to what they are today. you watch too much tv izzit?

Toapayohkid 1st Gear February 15, 2013 Share February 15, 2013 now got the court case challenging 377a. the gays are pushing hard to de-criminalising gay sex. christians, muslims and conservatives sure push back soon. watch the fireworks! the bigger goal for the gays i think is gay marriages. 377a is just first step. http://www.todayonline.com/singapore/judgm...ge-section-377a ↡ Advertisement
