Good alternative to GR90 ?

When I first had gr90, all the 4 tyres' side threads botak. That was 55k. Went for alighment and bought a new set of gr90 again. Same even though I pump extra 20% air. Now crossing 40k and all 4 sides going botak. It's the design.

been driving around the past 2 weeks on my Advan DB. It is a very quiet tyre (more so than my old GR90) BUT is less grippy.

Had a full load and tyres were at 230 front and 220 back on a very hot day and when braking hard due to bad traffic the front tyres screech.

Never had this on the GR90 before under similar circumstances.

Any advise if raising or lower my pressures will help ?

Try lower air pressure a bit but not too much then monitor tire wear. If the two edges start to wear too much, then its too low.

But yr tire Advan DB is not known fr good grip. Better known fr quiet.

I prefer slightly noisy but very good grip. [thumbsup] Now on Yokohama A.Drive R1. [thumbsup]

Ps3 also a good tire.

If yr tires always both sides botak fast, yr air pressure is too low. Increase summore.

the wear rate for GR90 is indeed quite disappointing. previously, i was using GR80 and the tyres were able to last for more than 70,000km. as GR80 was discontinued, i bought GR90 and was surprised the tyres needed to be replaced at about 40,000km. both models were made in Japan.

Is it quiet?

luga, yes , it remains quiet well into its mileage, relatively much quieter than any other tyres I have had. it maintains its grip very well too, much more so given that I am a fast driver, and the poise\handling. BMWs uses them as stock, what do you think ? I strongly recommend you to try it out once, you will not look back.

Turbocharged

The best tyre I have had is CSC5, no other tyres even come close to it.

do you remember what's it's treadwear rating?

i'm considering this also...but no point getting a grippy, quiet one but go botak in a year or two

I THINK the Mic Primacy 3 ST suit you (but is still a new model yet to be proven)

GR90 heard can get 40k if you look after it well and this 40k I think most car OK

if you are high mileage you have to think twice (if you got budget)

i dont know, but i am now into 50k km and it is still running well. normally i used to change tyres at 40k km mark, but this one just last well into its mileage. i think the wear rate is good.

Consider Hankook Concept V2, treadwear 500, quiet and wet grip capability suitable for tropical weather like Singapore.

o o u sure this tyre the noise level anywhere near gr90??
