Personally, the present gov. is good, that said, we have some good ministers and some NOT SO GOOD and well....

some shoot their mouth off without thinking of the consequences, given Mr.Tharman Shanmugaratnam, that is one minister that I give my

fullest respect to, he does what he says, within his scope of power. I don't have much respect for his lackeys, who keep good people from

joining the GRC which they so fiercely control. All kaki lang one.

Overall, the gov has done a good job, any organization is a good one, always remember that, it's the people inside who spoil it, as with

SAF, ICA MOM etc...

We tend to forget that IT IS the GOVT that is keeping us afloat all these years! The whole world is in economic doldrums but yet we're like in the relative economic fast lane! Of course mistakes were made but can anyone honestly say we foresaw the issues we are facing. Is there an alternative? Is there experience in the alternative? The alternative must provide check and balances but until then ...

We MUST be careful as Singapore's current reputation is built on political stability and trust that the ship will not be rocked in the next 10-15 years.

We should remember the PAP's flawed growth strategy is by importing foreigner talents/trash to expand the domestic demand which feeds our GLCs running essential services like transport, housing etc.. We should also remember PAP opened the flood gate for foreign workers/scholars that created competition with Singaporeans in jobs, academics and spaces. We must remember PAP made Singapore a tax-haven to draw rich foreigner which drives up property, COE prices pricing middle-class Singaporean out. While creating this short-term GDP growth, they rewarded themselves with millions in salary.

Such short-sighted approach to economic growth at the expense of Singaporean's long-term well-being is unacceptable. Singapore won't crash because an alternative/coalition party forms the government; it is what PAP wants Singaporean to believe. If our civil service structure is truly politically-neutral for the good of the people, then any non-PAP party should be able to run the country with little hiccups - just like how a new manager takes over a company department.

PAP is already boxed-in and unable to think creatively to lead Singapore out of the old-fashion economic growth model. They probably focus too much time "fixing the oppposition parties" and is too elite-minded to admit any policy flaw.

Tharman might be next PM and so far he done everything right. Maybe his ministry is safe ministry - finance, not housing, education, transport, health, home affairs, defence.

I can't agree more. If they paid themselves "lower", I would think OK. But $$$millions and no risk of losing their jobs (except for Mah Bow Tan, Wong Kan Seng and Raymond Lim), I would be unforgiving.

Still I understand their need for foreigner workforce, just that infrastructure should cope but it didn't.

Well said. If they pay themselves million dollar PAP ministerial salaries (the highest paid in the whole world) they cannot give this kinda s--t excuse. THEY ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE 20/20 VISION.

But hey u dont need 20/20 vision to foresee what happens if u mass import FTs as citizens into a small shitty island.

But the worst culprits are the 60% of walking zombies who re-elect them year after year!!!

Paid millions and still make mistakes.

Then pay so much for what ? For this kind of lame excuses ? [furious]
