Pms 3rd Gear February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 Maxima cool aide is suited for our climate as it does not contain antifreeze. I change mine every 6 months.
5936 1st Gear February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 i dont think its wrong to change coolant regularly. another factor is PH value. over time cooling water changed to acidic, and that's bad for engine
Pisces69 6th Gear February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 i dont think its wrong to change coolant regularly. another factor is PH value. over time cooling water changed to acidic, and that's bad for engine I wil change my coolant every 3yrs or 60-70k km when i change my timing belt n waterpump. So far no problem. I dun do top-up cos e moment i find my coolant drop it means there is a leak in e system n i get it fixed. I recently started using OWS coolant to try. So far so good fr last couple if months. If its good i prob use it again next year when i change my timing belt n waterpump.

Torquemonster 1st Gear February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 Frankly speaking RED or Green is the same is ONLY the color different....Best to change every 20-30K. If you want value for money can check out Capro Anti Freeze Coolant 2200ml ever brought from Fairprice Xtra AMK Hub below $10 / bottle available in Red or Green color Typical long life coolant can last up to 100k or 5 years, changing every 20-30k is overkill. Jamesc Hypersonic February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 Typical long life coolant can last up to 100k or 5 years, changing every 20-30k is overkill. this is very true. I regretted changing my coolant after 2 years and 30,000 km as the coolant looked brand new like out of the bottle.
Weihui Clutched February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 I just got hold 2 x 2L Mitsubishi Super Long Life coolant Premium from my supplier. Blue in color. Been using the Mitsubishi Super long life coolant (green) in the past. They are not that expensive.
5936 1st Gear February 15, 2013 Share February 15, 2013 luckily mine uses timing chain, so I get coolant replaced every 40+K km.You are right that closed cooling system should not need regular top ups frequently. Missing cooling water may be signs of leak. ↡ Advertisement
