Used Car Dealers Feedback (Part 2)!

Hi everyone,

Auto Zone Pte Ltd (Wcega 05-18)

must say I’m shocked to see so many of us scammed by used car dealers. My incident happened recently where the dealer above pitched that my shortlisted car is a well taken care, seldom used 3rd or 4th car of previous owner. After his seemingly friendly sharing, I was asked to place $3000 to show my interest for PPI. However the PPI results shows many areas that needed to be replaced (more than 15items) besides other red flags like the coolant was still boiling after more than an hour after engine switch off, signaling some cooling issues and the nice looking seats also had signs proving that the red seats wear sprayed on, “cataract head lights”, etc. I didn’t feel comfortable to proceed so tried to ask dealer for a partial refund of my deposit. But he started shouting, and claimed these are all wear and tear for used cars, then drove off in front of my face.

Thus I’m sharing here about experience with this dealer and also that we should not place such high deposits for just a PPI. I also understand some dealers use these deposits as their “income”

You so generic. A Suzuki will be $100 but a bmw will be $400. Oil seepage where? Can be easy or difficult areas. Who knows.

Don't buy any used car from Classic Credit Pte Ltd, I were being con by this company some years back. Their so called in house workshop warranty will cheat you by putting your car at workshop for 1 month till your 6months given warranty expired. Then they claimed didnt receive any of your car in their workshop at all. I filed claimed and they told the judge said no such a car send for repair. I lost the case and the repair cost me more then $7k. Again never believe in any small company inhouse warranty.

Hi I am new to this forum, hope to post a feedback on 1 particular car agent.

CarChope SG Pte Ltd (Please note I have nothing against business owners or anything against this particular dealer)

My relative was looking at Mazda, hence directly zoom to the year and model, what he saw was Carchope has quite a variety which he was looking at.

He went down directly to the showroom, but cited the cars has been sold. I agree he should have made a call first before making his move, but it has been past 3 months since he was being informed that the car has been sold, the same fleet of vehicles are still posted with numerous cars of the same specs posted previously still posting for sale. (some price looking attractive but end of the day, seller has no vehicles at all, trying to recommend other vehicle models)

Does this happen only to ourselves where we should have contacted seller before going straight to the show room ? If the vehicle has been sold, why is the post still valid ? I am sure there are buyers who is just like mine relative where you see and go straight to the showroom without confirming.

Is sgcarmart just taking in advertisement fees just for the sake of profiting ? Who is moderating if such vehicles are valid at the first place ? Or maybe the site itself just want the amount of vehicle to look a lot so that traffic will be constantly coming to a site where fake post are not regulated ?

Hi guys,

New to the forum here. I understand that some dealers required deposit for PPI checks but one of the dealer I encountered required loan to be approved before doing PPI.

They mention that the loan will be cancelled on their side with immediate effect if I choose not to proceed with the car after PPI checks. They said that the PPI report will take days and I am not "actually" taking the loan until they give the green light to proceed and it's more of in principal approval.

Can i check with the experts here if there are any red flags or is this practice normal?

Are you the guy who earns RM5,400 per month, wanted a 2021 Mercedes GLA with a hefty price tag of RM260,000.

When the consultant reasonably suggested finding a guarantor with a higher income, the man offered his wife without disclosing her salary.

The man then asked if his wife could act as his guarantor. When @recondmalaya_ requested her salary details, the man dismissed the question and said he’d find another salesperson instead.

Hi Jamesc,

Thanks for sharing.

So in theory, if I can get in principal approval from the same bank as the dealer, this is sufficient to assure the dealer right

@Mkl22

Hi bro,

So far I nego to the dealer that I can show proof of my credit score and the dealer is flexible to allow PPI with deposit.

Basically is the vibes and to what level the dealer compromise.
