Hi gurus, I just sent a vezel to AAS for inspection. May i know if there is any machine or tools to check for gearbox and engine? cos surprisingly to learn that AAS do not inspect engine/gearbox.. just test run from visual perspective, as long it is functioning then ok. sorry i could be wrong, seeking your advise

I would like to strongly urge everyone to BEWARE of James Tan from 360 VR Holdings. He sold my late father's car in September 2022 and STOLE THE MONEY, using it for his own business. He lied to us countless times, blaming his staff, blaming the bank and etc. He still owes us $43,000. He has asked for extension upon extension but has not met any of the deadlines. By the way, he promptly deducted the commission he was due to earn, despite not settling the full amount. He has no ethics. He also urges people to invest in his business (disguised as 'profit-sharing') but you are highly unlikely to get a cent back. We have lost a significant amount of money due to our poor choices in trusting this man and company. We have been badly burned by this thief. If anyone has had similar experiences with James and this company, please contact me ([email protected]). Justice needs to be served.

hi @tpgblack4. When my father was very ill in April 2022, he asked us to sell his car. We engaged James Tan from 360VR Cars. The car was finally sold in September. According to the contract we signed, the amount would be split into 2 payments. The first immediately after the sale, and the second (larger amount) within ten days. James kept delaying the second payment countless times. He issued cheques that bounced several times. He proposed payment plans that he never met. Every week he had a new excuse. We even sent him a letter of demand through our lawyer but that did nothing. Finally, I was so fed up I posted a google review (same as my above post). This made him panic and he started begging us to remove the post. He asked us to give him until 31 December to pay up. i removed the post and asked him for a post-dated cheque which I stupidly thought would bind him and force him to pay. Guess what? 31 December comes along and I deposit the cheque and it bounces a few days later. Last week I again put up my review on Google. He panics again and begs us to remove it but we refuse. He proposed another payment plan, breaking up the amount into 5 installments. But he again has yet to transfer the money and keep to his plan.. he is asking for more time. We have been nothing but kind and accomodating and forgiving. But he is still playing games. We are not the only victims. I discovered on Instagram that others have been cheated by him as well. You can check out their latest post on Instagram.

i don't have any social media, so i can't view IG... hope you get your cash back.. alternatively, you may want to share your story on STOMP or MOTHERSHIP... make it viral, $43k is a big amount and it's really not funny playing with people's money... i sincerely pray that justice will be served for you  🙏🏾

Hi all last Sunday I was sourcing for a used car. After hearing many horror story from forum members and friends I went into the market with my eyes wide open.

Long story short saw a sedan I like (6+years old, ard 120km mileage) at Mayfair motoring and salesman Nelson attended to me. After showing me the interior and engine bay we went for a test drive. Car feels sturdy, handling was good and exterior was very well polish and wax.

After that we went to office to discuss further. He was very straightforward and told me admin fee $540 is compulsory and if I don’t take loan, an additional $500 will be added to car price. As car depreciation was quite competitive I told him I will go back and consider. He did not push me to put the down payment of $2000 and i didn’t. However he don’t allow you to send vehicle to AA for inspection, only STA or their workshop. He also told me not to come back tomorrow (Monday) as he got medical appointment.

On Monday ard 2pm I asked if he can transfer ownership of car on the same day. He mention that with STA check it’s not possible as need booking. So I told him to skip STA inspection as my instinct tells me there should not be any major problem. that afternoon around 4pm he got the insurance quote and loan approval. And at 5 I was there with the cash. Nelson told me no cash accepted as it’s his company policy, he don’t want to be accused of eating money. So I went to POSB bank opposite and deposited the cash into his company’s account. The ownership transfer process was initiated and within 15mins it is done.

After that took car for major servicing and mechanic found nothing wrong, so just change engine oil, auto transmission oil and cabin/air filter. After that change brand new tyre and 2nd hand rim. In total spent about $1.1k for above.

Overall quite a good experience with Mayfair and special thanks to Nelson who came back and settled all the paperwork despite his medical appointment.
