conti parts ex leh.. buying a coe conti  car many parts (due to wear and tear over the years) need to be replace. the cost is higher to maintenace than a parf conti.

if you get genuine parts of course expensive la. u go JB and get OEM/aftermarket parts. i used to have a 2013 Tiguan. parts i got in JB. servicing 1st year free, then from then on i did in JB. if u own a COE car and do ur maintenance in SG, u really burning a big hole in ur pocket... and buying any COE car, u would need to replace a lot of things. cost wise would be simillar.

Read that older VW car tends to have quite a number of problems so never really consider no doubt VW got many features. Ya will wait a month or so to see how the COE result, if really much lower pay a bit more for new car make sense.

i would say its not as unreliable as people make it to be... used to have a 2013 tiguan, brought in once for DSG issue, from then on its ok. so it really depends on ur luck, how the prev owner treats the car...basically same for any used car

you sure conti got OEM parts? this first time i heard or didnt hear before. how much can you save using OEM parts? Does it last long?

Yes buying COE need to replace alot of things but it also depends on the ex owner whether did he or she take care of the ar also. cost wise between a coe conti and a parf conti is similar? I dont think so.

have. i now driving 216d GT. 2 weeks ago reversed into a fire extinguisher box, small part of taillight broke. PML quote me $460. outside workshop in SG, told me OEM best price $390. i went for OEM, as i want to change when COE drops. so far so good, only been a week. looks original condition, does not look like it's been replaced unless you closely inspect it...

Conti has OEM parts , most stockists bring in OEM parts, and their prices are   about 20% to 40% cheaper than original.   Some stockists carry both oem and original, makenit easier for you to compare price.

I dont know all conti enoug, but mercedes I am familiar with, one can even buy the full set of Taiwan  OEM parts to upgrade  the w212 pre facelift to facelift or even AMG model, which among others,  include oem head lights and brake lights assembly. And not all original parts are expensive in fact. Of course, many other oem stuff, shocks, alternator, compressor  even aircon blowers , whole side mirror assembly etc.

You go to VW stockist they will even ask if you want original or OEM parts.

Have your friend even own a conti car before or he also hear from ‘friend’?

Neutral Newbie

Hi all,

I am going to buy a coe avante paying in full, around 4 years left. The problem i'm facing is the dealer won't accept cheque payments and ask me to do either ibanking transfer or by cashier order.

Any one can advise if I should proceed or this dealer is not trustworthy?

If cashier order, then ask to transfer ownership on the spot at the same time. I always demand that. If the dealer gives excuses, then walk away.

Tell dealer to come out of the cave.

I left my bimmer at the scrap yard door during covid lock down period. Went home and went on line to do the transfer using singpass and was done instanteously. All paperless.
