When you buy any car, you need a COE.

LTA requires a 10k deposit before COE bidding.

Hence most AD need to collect 10+k from you, or they will broke if they bid COE for you and you run away.

In a way, that 10k is a deposit to bind you to the contract.

15k isnt that high, imho.

...waiting for a 40k Bezza still. (Potential 2nd car as OPC)

Technically, deposit for the car is only $5k. The coe is bidded under the buyer's name so at any point of time the buyer want to back off, the max lost is $5000.

Hmmm...ok then. I stand corrected.

But at least have to hold on 5k to prevent loss, am I correct to say that?

Yes, usually the amount depends on the value of the car. Ranges from $2k to $5k depending on the Dealer.

Hi bros, first time buying car..

Would like to check with expert.

Is kia forte 2010 sx 30k renew coe consider exp?

$6K annual dep for a 10 yr old car, based on 5 yr COE renewal?

Such an annual dep can get you a brand new Kia Cerato L.

If you want to get  a 2010 renewed COE car, go for 10 yr renewals. At most selling $45K, for you to drive for 10 yrs.

Stay away from used cars for the next 3 months and observe the COE premium - almost certainly it will dip substantially. The used car market will have to make corresponding adjustment soon to avert serious losses by being hopeful and hold on to their fast depreciating inventories.

Hi to you all bought a used car from Premier 8 Kaki Bukit ave 4 #07-16 after test drive the car overheat, the dealer say he will do it for me. but the day i go and collect the car was already warmed up but i sensed something fishy so i ask the dealer for 1 week warranty and he says ok. but after driving the car for one day only, the whole engine overheat again. i call to tell him that I will send the car to his garage for checking. they say maybe gasket burnt and need to remove and check. But today when i collect the car, the dealer says has to share half of the total bill.

lesson learned, never collect the car when it's hot.

Please be careful if you are buying car from him, at your Risk

I have experienced it myself, once there is interest party, they will jack up the price.

6.9k depre is very expensive for a b&b COE car. You may want to vompare a few more before deciding. For that depre you may want to consider  some b&b brand new cars. Dont get trapped into impulse buying.

Either that or the dealers mark up the selling price to secure a higher loan for the potential buyer.
