Not forgetting the servicing that cost 800 bucks and using some cowboy oil. I was like WTF? When my hybrid failed, I'll rather go somewhere else although under warranty. Its in name only.

Don't think is cowboy oil. I think is more of coconut oil. 😂

I don’t have much confidence in STA after one evaluation.

Only experienced mechanics can evaluate a car properly.

Not these young evaluators; maybe from JB?

Hi, has anyone bought used car from Roadlink Auto Pte Ltd before? Eyeing below car and was informed they have admin fee $800. Not sure if this is normal practice as I'm a first time car buyer. Any advice appreciated thanks!

Hi, need your opinion. Have been eying this honda city being sold by Wheels & Cars pte ltd located at Carros. Anyone dealt with this car dealer before and is the price reasonable for a honda city with 3 previous owners? your response is much appreciated. Below is the url link.

I just know that IF this was the dealer trying to buy my car under the  pretence that one of their sales people wanted it as his personal car , they are shady people.

And the sales person got aggressive very fast like I owed him money or something lol . Had to tell him to take a hike .

Bought a car from Platinum Motoring in January this year.

2 months later, ABS and Tensioner faulty. The car is posted as comes with Sgcarmart warranty. So wanted to claim for repair. Salesman Alson now said that it does not. And during sales, claim that their in-house warranty is more comprehensive but now says that it does not cover it too.

I want to use lemon law and claim them for ABS repair cost but the salesman say need approval from manager/boss. Ghosted me and till date no outcome.

PLEASE CHECK CAREFULLY BEFORE BUYING FROM THEM.

what about the Sgcarmart platform? Have you raise the concern with them???

Talking to used car company might as well talk to the wall. At least the sound wave bounces back.

Hi all,

I just bought a 2nd hand BMW X3 from a dealer in Mega Automobile Megamart in Feb. The car was firstly registered in Aug 2019. Recently we found out the car had a coolant leaking issue. We were going to go for PML to do the repairing because our agent told me this car had a 5-year repair warranty. However, when we called in we found out our car only had a 3-year warranty. When we told this information to our agent, he mentioned that he would check with his dealer/broker because he didn’t buy the car from the direct owner. After checking he replied us with this photo in the attachment showing a “Yes” for 5-year warranty column without any proof. And he claimed that this was what he had from his dealer. And we planned to go for PML workshop to do a full inspection but he claimed that PML will assess our car as a new car so he  refused to accept this report. After discussion we decided to bring the car to his authoritised workshop. And we accepted since the workshop is quite reliable where we did the servicing there. After the inspection, it was diagnosed that the pipe issue to cause the leak which will cost us about $650 which is acceptable for us. So we went back to discuss with our agent. And he only agreed to pay $300 max and extend in-house warranty for engine and gearbox for another 6 months which we totally disagreed. In such case what should we do? Can we use this photo as a proof to fight for our right and ask him to compensate us based on lemon law? Thank you.

Please read the bold parts.

Question : PML confirmed that car has only 3 years warranty left or out of warranty at point of call (cos bought in 2019 so warranty ended in 2022?).

When we told this information to our agent, he mentioned that he would check with his dealer/broker because he didn’t buy the car from the direct owner.

After checking he replied us with this photo in the attachment showing a “Yes” for 5-year warranty column without any proof.

Question : The advertisement claimed car is under 5 years warranty. If untrue, it is a case of misrepresentation. You did not confirm or checked prior to purchase?

And he claimed that this was what he had from his dealer. And we planned to go for PML workshop to do a full inspection but he claimed that PML will assess our car as a new car so he  refused to accept this report.

Question : What is "this report"?

After discussion we decided to bring the car to his authoritised workshop. And we accepted since the workshop is quite reliable where we did the servicing there. After the inspection, it was diagnosed that the pipe issue to cause the leak which will cost us about $650 which is acceptable for us.

So we went back to discuss with our agent. And he only agreed to pay $300 max and extend in-house warranty for engine and gearbox for another 6 months which we totally disagreed.

Questions : (1) Dealer will only pay $300 max towards the $650 bill. This is acceptable to you?

(2) Instead of the remaining 1+years advertised  PML warranty (August 2019-August 2024), dealer now only willing to offer 6 months in-house warranty for engine and gearbox, which is not acceptable to you.

In such case what should we do? Can we use this photo as a proof to fight for our right and ask him to compensate us based on lemon law?

Lemon law covers engine and gearbox but not wear n tear items iirc.

In this case, the coolant leakage seems a wear n tear item.

The only issue is the misrepresentation of validity of 5 years warranty in the advertisement. In place of it, dealer is offering an in-house warranty for engine and gearbox.

Technically, you are shortchanged on 1 year warranty from PML. Is this warranty subject to maximum mileage of 100k km?

Frankly, if you have time and willing to throw good money, you need to engage own lawyer to pursue either the cost of the balance PML warranty (you need to check from PML what it cost) or negotiate with dealer to fulfill the balance at their authorised workshop which you find reliable.

An important note - please get clear details of what in-house warranty on engine and gearbox covers in writing.

Just my personal yada-ing.

Yeah don’t need their smlj warranty. Price low enough to fix it myself can Liao.
In order to be fully transparent try asking for full cash and immediate  transfer on the spot.

It has been out of warranty because we called to make an appointment for the leakage repair. Upon checking from the sys, the SA told us our car only had a 3-year warranty.

TBH the dealer was one of the acquaintances of ours, we both thought the info was true. And this screenshot was only sent to us after we called PML. He claimed that this is what he had from his dealer.

Diagnosis report. We planned to send to PML to do the check on the coolant.

Definitely not acceptable. But this is the latest offer we got from him yesterday. And we didn’t accept the 6-month extension. We planned to asked him to pay more on the repair and extend the warranty at least until Aug 2024 on those engine and gearbox parts.

We are not sure. We haven’t discussed so detailed yet. We will take note of this point as well if we decide to accept his offer and make sure there is a written document for it. Thanks for your reply.
