Some will say yes, some will say no. My advice, never try never know. 

There are multiple possibilities based on what you have described. 

Example: y is there no translator present for your elderly. Y your elderly sign even though they dunno how to read... And many more

@Civictoh  Mostly are consign cars, full of marketing efforts by him and his wife haha. Even if he buy in, sure low ball u, worse than other dealers.

Haha, some are not sold by him.  Some are bought over by other dealers and some owners give up selling. Its all part of his marketing.

Wanted to purchase a SLK 250 from Monster Motor at Tagore Rd. Agreed to put a deposit of 1.5k if they allow the car to be inspected. On inspection engine was leaking from many places and with coolant leaking on both front Suspensions. I requested for the price to be dropped to fix it but it seems they are unwilling to . The Deposit was made on 12 of May between then then 3 inspection was made due to missing the first 2 appointment with my workshop to check for stuff. When asked to lower the price for the problems they refused and said only way is removed the spray paint which was given due to the cracks on the bumper and bad scratches all over the car. The front windscreen had 3 cracks which the sales person consulted with the boss and the boss told me to fix it with my own windscreen excess in return giving me a 480 SGD worth of PPS. 

After negotiating the sales person offered me everything that was discussed plus a reduction of 1800SGD which i agreed to deal but 3 hours later coming back to me saying they made a mistake and cannot do it. 

Now I am trying to get back my deposit. lets hope its a clean and easy refund process.

Most used car dealers will say they offer 6 mth warranty. Ask MM to pay for the repair on these leaks at your chosen workshop. See what they say

I know right. the leak coming from Engine but they said its a leak so its wear and tear on the engine part so its not covered. If they were to agree of the cost to fix/ replace it i would have accepted their deal.

Just wanted to warn everyone on a dishonest car dealer Platinum motoring at Ubi Ave 3.

I helped to advertise a car recently for my family and received many calls, of whom I always ask if he is a dealer, consignor or genuine buyer. I didn't want to deal with dealers knowing their price will be very low. This person called Frederick then called me and said he is buying for his own use and we met up to view the car. Upon meeting up, then he declared he is a car dealer. He was all friendly and smiles and seeing how sincere he was, we continued with the viewing. 

As I had a call, I had to walk away and left him with my family member to test drive. Before leaving, I wanted to pass them the sgcarmart sales and purchase form, but he brushed us away and asked to use his coy form.

He used the reason of the car having high mileage to negotiate down, but finally manage to agree on a price. 
He then pushed my family member to quickly sign on their form before I could make it back to witness the paperwork. My family member couldn't read english. we didn't notice there was very small fine print of 2% admin fee chargeable mentioned in the form.
He never highlighted this until the day of handing over the car, and only after the transfer process was completed in LTA website, then he rewrote another agreement and spelt it out clearly in writing and inform us. After some argument he dropped it down to half. The admin fee was for paperwork, which I questioned him what sort of paperwork would cost close to 2k. Transactions are so simple and handled electronically via LTA website. He could have highlighted to us anytime from signing of agreement, till before processing the transfer where we could have stopped the transaction.

On the day of handing over the car, he was also unfriendly at the start, which i felt weird and now I know why, as he was already anticipating an ugly turnout. Specifically heard he telling his staff to call him only after the LTA process was completed. 
His behaviour was akin to that of a rogue and commanded us to settle the payment before leaving, saying that the transaction is already complete and it's now his call to decide. 

Lastly, also noted that he tampered with the mileage of the car in his latest ad. 

Pls be careful when buying or selling cars from 2nd hand car dealers.

Rather than blaming the rouge dealer, ask yourself why got your family members to be involved in the first place?

@Hamburger it's quite obvious my family member is the car owner la. These dealers have no conscience to smoke elderly out of a few k.
