is it really that easy to tamper with odo? we've all heard about this but how many of us have actually seen it happen? i wonder if it's one of those relics from our parents' time when it was really easy to do so by simply turning the dial ... now, i would assume that at the least special hard and software would be required

Gaget like this can be bought on line....fyi

Just called the AD, they don't disclose information except to registered owners of the vehicle. So the 2nd hand car dealer can say all they want about it being fully serviced by AD when the AD doesn't disclose such information. What a pain in determining if you should buy this particular brand of cars.

Shall just take the plunge and get a new car. No point having to deal with all this crap when I am the customer putting in good money.

Why bother with all the lies and deceit.

For odo tampering, it is cheap n fast to 'tweak' the odo..that's why it's widespread in this industry. no potential owner will want a 100,000+km car right?

Why not, I've bought so many used cars in my lifetime. I got a used Mazda 2 with 140k km on the ODO, it was 6 years old. Very legit mileage. 1 owner.

Just search hard and you will find the right car.

Buying new car is for millionaires. So freaking expensive.

admin fee is up to their wishes, for newbie they will start with 1k and then bring down.

u can nego with them on that if u really like a car, it not worth it to pay them 1k. they eat from car sales, they eat from insurance, and they eat big from admin fee, which is only computer work.

i hope they eat eat eat , stomach don't explode !

yes, i agreed the $1K is rather on the high side & should not impose at all.

the car (03/2006) that i viewed at AML #02 is was registered under the Temporary Transfer Scheme before 04-Mar-2013. Therefore, the MAS ruling on maximum loan amount and loan term does not apply until 4-Jun-2013.

however the saleman said the bank only willing to loan 50% and the interest rate is 2.88%/yr

any comment?

depends wat brand. toyota honda mitsubishi suzuki up to 200K KM mostly no problems. BMW Volkswagen etc not even 60K KM already lot of parts start breaking down already, mostly not terminal but still a nuisance that they arent as reliable as jap cars. Thats y used jap cars in demand plus repairs also cheaper

Hi I did not manage to visit them, I was suppose to go down last weekend but they sold the car before I am able to see it. So sad but I guess I can wait since my current ride has two more years before scrap. [rolleyes]

Hey guys, i just book a car with privileage motor. seems ok but for lemon law issue, is there any documents?

I bought my car from them too...all seems okay until collecting the car!! On car collection day, they told me to pay $500.00 admin fee + $500.00 loan processing fee (I felt like slapping them but also my own fault as I forgot all abt this kopi lui during negotiation!!)

Anyway, they took almost 1 month to pay me back the difference from my car transfer!! Their standard excuse is ...boss wife sick or boss wife not around!! Arse holes!!

Haha I am also looking for SUV. Can't give you any advice since I am also hunting but haven found a car that has reasonable depr per year. I don't want to pay too much over valuation for a car.

I think harrier is good but it is exp!!! I am looking for cx7 or murano.

Was looking at CX7 took. But the petrol consumption is high, heard its ard 7.5-8km per l..so average out, have to spend ard $150 more on that. Therefore, it's almost the same leh I think so.
