Billcoke 2nd Gear January 10, 2013 Share January 10, 2013 I'm looking for free GPS maps for Australia, are Malfree and MalSing the only people that develop free maps? ↡ Advertisement
Nicholas 5th Gear January 10, 2013 Share January 10, 2013 There are many. Search for OSM and Australia MalSing and malfree mainly update free maps only for Malaysia and Singapore with lots of useful POIs.
Watwheels Supersonic January 10, 2013 Share January 10, 2013 Correction. Malfreemaps is a free map project community. If you say they develop the maps dan it will be no longer free. Plus they only do ASEAN country maps. I dun think Australia is one of them. If you Google you will find what you are looking for. Even iTunes have an offline map for Australia and it's free to download. Is it really that difficult?

Compare Malfree/MalSing to Garmin, Malfree/Malsing are more up-to-date, so I'm looking for maps similar to Malfree/MalSing maps.

I assumed you tried to install the OSMAustralia map. The map there is broken into many maps comprising of the various states within the country. I believed the each state map is usable on its own but you will have to combine all the maps together if you intend to have the map of the whole country. The site did not mention specifically how to go about doing it but from what I know and have done it in the past, you need to have the Gmaptool software to stitch them together.
