Seems like Johor is going to fun place, rumor going to be twice the size of legoland. What's happening to Singapore. Why all the interesting investments going to Johor, even Peter Lim chose to invest the race track in Johor.

Must add another set annual passes to my collections.

Six Flags Entertainment to invest $484m in Iskandar theme park

NUSAJAYA, JOHOR (THE STAR/ANN) - United States-based theme park operator Six Flags Entertainment is planning to invest between RM1.2 billion (S$484 million) and RM1.5 billion to set up a theme park in Iskandar Malaysia.

Sources told StarBiz that the theme park, which will be double the size of Legoland Malaysia and the company's first theme park in Asia, would offer more than 40 rides.

According to Wikipedia, Six Flags Entertainment is the world's largest amusement park corporation based on quantity of properties and the fifth most popular in terms of attendance. It maintains 19 properties throughout North America consisting of theme parks, thrills parks, water theme parks and family entertainment centres.

Iskandar Investment (IIB) president and chief executive officer Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, said an announcement would be made by an investor within the next six months on the matter.

Cheap cheap land, low manpower cost.. but still can tap on the strength of Singapore's SGD.. plus JB is physically closer to Changi airport than KLIA, visitors will rather fly into Changi..

I'd say it's a win-win situation for everyone..

Not that our tiny island got land for another theme park..

I am sure they have plently of land for Casinos

Anyway this kind of theme park not suitable for Singapore , got too much restriction and red tapes . That explain why Peter Lim choose JB for his racing track too .

Land is expensive in singapore mah.

yeah, the land price there is probably at least 3x cheaper than SG.

Maybe Malaysia even give them free just to attract them, they have plenty of ulu place, just need road to reach there can liao, Theme Park no need to be located at Central location anyway

I prefer to go theme park in those countries with 4 seasons.Prefer to go during spring or autum.

SE Asia climate is too hot.Imagine the Q with the weather [knife]

genting hit the jackpot (no pun intended) on cameron highlands.

one idea here is to build a vertical resort.

say a very tall commercial building, but floors 80 to 100 dedicated to rides and resort.

all kinds of rides on the facade of the building, with the world's tallest roller coaster on the rooftop.

but not entirely the most original idea. Stratosphere tower did it first
