Supercharged

I hate these pple too

But I can't be bothered with them

I jus flip my rear mirror n zoom off

Same here. Otherwise I purposely slow down to irritate him, forcing him to overtake me or turn off his high beam (when he realised he can't high beam me becos he is already on high beam!)

But I feel those who don't turn ON headlights at all are worse!

I drove once in country roads in another country in which there are only 1 road with 1 lane each direction and if the opposite vehicle is on hi beam the oncoming driver just flicks hilo beam and the other driver would lower their beam...also if approaching a blind curve drivers would flick hilo beams to signal the incoming vehicles and its not offensive...

Second that.

I can't and need not do anything...

my rear mirror is auto dimming... [;)]

Same. Auto dimming mirror rocks. But I have additional mesh sunshade fixed onto my rear windscreen. High beam is nothing nowadays. Nothing I can do about the side mirrors though [laugh]

some cars (or should i say tall SUVs) just can't be helped.

I disagree.

Headlights should be tilted downwards to illuminate the road not straight or upwards to illuminate the sky.

If even a lorry or bus can do it why can't SUV?

I use a clip on super wide rear view mirror.

When someone highbeam, I simply turn the mirror to reflect the beam back at his face.

The driver behind gets the message VERY QUICKLY.

Tried many times. It works.

my rear is stock, but I always swing off the mirror when kana highbeam car.

There was once I think heng heng suay suay the beam reflect back to the rear car driver. and he still can give me a long horn blast <_<

I ever thot of installing those LED panel at behind my passenger head rest to fcuk off those driver, but too costly and don see why I need to pay for their mistake [shakehead]

You know, when you reflect his hi-beam back at his face, he gets really pissed. hahaha....

It's not too difficult to get a suction mirror for your rear screen. Not one but two. Point it back to the rear.

Do a test shine with another car behind yours.

Broadway 400mm plus mirrors more chance of hitting back at his face. [:p]

can do a demo video how to adj the angle ? i had been trying for donkey years and i cant seem to get the angle right

If your ahgaration is not choon enough, just get a friend to test beam at you from behind. Once the angle is correct, remember the position.

The more you practise, the more choon you become. You build muscle memory and then it becomes second nature. hahaha......

Good luck. Happy ricochet.

Everyone knows how annoying it is to have somebody behind you with his high beam on. It blinds you, forcing you to focus your attention elsewhere especially when traffic is at a stop. When its dark, it screws your night vision, especially if you need to check your side mirrors to filter. This evening around 6+, as i was reaching home, one car came up behind me with his high beam on. We stopped at a red light, and i decided to try something. I flicked off my lights (it was before 7pm, i only had position + tail lights on, so it was only one flick) and back on. To my surprise, it immediately registered with the driver behind what i meant, and he turned off his high beam. Guess he prolly didnt realise he had high beam on, since there are still a fair amount of daylight left. So i just gave a friendly wave to say thanks.

Thanks for your interesting post.

Most Singaporean drivers are blind, deaf and farking dumb so I doubt this trick will work on 99% of them.

I guess you were lucky to have met that 1%.
