Singaporeans like to criticize fellow Singaporeans

Singaporeans LIKE to criticize non Singaporeans more, to give a full perspective. It happen here in this forum often, especially when a foreigner criticize or even suggest some improvement to Singaporean, all sorts of ugly reactions will come out, many are not fit for national TV. Attack the individual ( & not the original criticism), their culture, nation, ethical group that is totally unrelated to the criticism.

One thing I always tell my foreign friends, whatever you do, never criticize a Singaporean, not directly at least, most time, they don't react well. It doesn"t help that our dear leaders do not react well to critism as well, which I think have an influence on the citizen.

This is one area which I feel we can improve.

When overseas, I complain that the chinese nationals cut my queue as I was waiting to board a feeder bus... then I pondered... Hey... didn't I often zoom in front of people's lane and cut in abruptly.. that is, when i'm rushing for time, but its no excuse cuz its all about time management right.

Fact is often, people have wide eyes to see other's flaws, but they are blind towards their own... I am guilty too... [:/]

Mostly the latter. There are some rational arguments, but also a considerable that overreacted a little. Even demeaning name like Ah Tiong are thrown around without much thought here.
