Not necessary. If SDP has a new formidable and chrismatic candidate like Sylvia Lim then may just nip it, like WP. As someone said, its the candidate, not the party.

 

If its just about the candidate... alot of PAP candidates do not deserves to be MPs.

 

actually looking at GE2011 results. Every single ward which WP contested in, they garnered 40+% of the votes. They sent first time candidates with modest backgrounds to Punggol East SMC (Lee Li Lian) and Sengkang West SMC (Koh Chong Yong) and both achieved reputable results as well. Compare this to SDP's results.. none passed 40% mark. I feel SDP's approach or rather Dr Chee's approach is too radical for the majority of Singaporean.

I suspect it is the stigma that Dr Chee carries that makes SDP less viable, whereas WP didn't have. Also, Sylvia seems sincere and not so shrewed to me.

SDP got SYT? The closest is that Michelle in the last GE who is not young at all.

dunno about others, but for me, my biggest unhappiness is the overpopulation issue (which directly and indirectly leads to housing, medical, transport, etc issues)

 

whichever party against this open-leg policy gets my vote

 

WP is too quiet, much to my disappointment

I think WP could gracefully step aside and let SDP contest. Let SDP spearhead all the tough questionings during parliament sitting.

 

Firstly, no way WP will not contest. Not fair to Lee Li Lian who has been working the ground and obtained a quite respectable support of 41% during the last GE.

 

Secondly, by asking WP to step aside for SDP, is actually an insult to SDP. You are implying that SDP has no chance in a 3 corner fight if WP is in the mix.
