To be fair, if you work in a place full or sweaty males from dawn till dusk and with harsh conditions, you tend to be horny.

Really? Doesn't happen to me.

Speaking of under-reporting.. recently, there was a report about Singapore's "rape per 100,000 population per year" is more than 2x higher than India ... then I checked... China was also 2x higher than India .. uhh ... in fact U.S. was way way higher. [knife]

Prison rapes are very common in US prisons....crack your butthole and break your teeth for a fellatio

Come to think about it, true also but then, I just feel their severe punishment does have some positive effect on the overall crime....

at least in China, the cases don't drag... especially those cases that cause social uproar

one bullet and that's it

India prides themselves as the biggest democracy in the world, yet their justice system is still loitering in the 1970s... how ironic

UN statistics of course are the reported cases. India has very low reported cases compared with other major countries.

zunboh?

According to this Mumbai-based writer's personal experience in China she had no problem..she even quoted a few statistics comparing women status between both countries - even-though it is clear she still see China from ideological perspective.

In reality, she admittedly write I don

You know what I was talking about right ?

You wasn't talking [;)] -

but more like hinting to some formmers that after this latest national embarrassment to India, there is no need to compare with China by citing certain crime statistics since the numbers are not always reflective of the true situation in the streets.

That is why I share this Indian female personal recollection on her return to India after working in the capital of PRC for a few years as a correspondence for India's paper Hindustan Times.

It is interesting to note even with her nationalistic comparison between Indian and China, she still ended her article using Mao Zedong famous quote on women's contributions.

Good for you. I wanted to point out the overwhelming under reporting in India, compared with other countries. Never read much into the recent news which to me, it is not new. I've been to India umpteen times and my take is India is not a democracy, however much the government's propaganda claims it is.

If this 2nd high profile bus-rape had occur in China, some media will be talking about PRC politics, human rights and changing of regime liao.
