Hi guys,

i drive a toyota wish 2008 model. Notice when i am driving, the rear wheel seems to create a helicopter (vom-vom-vom-vom...) sound even what i am driving straight. The sound gets louder as i increases my speed. I have check there's no foreign object on my tyres, the air pressure is right. Is it some sort of wear and tear thingy? Anybody encountered before and what has been quoted and replaced?

It's not causing any hazard but i am just ignored by the vom-vom-vom sound. Hope its just a small fee to fix it. My wife mention she notice the sound after i replace my rim and tyres. Not sure if it's linked.

Any help appreciated

could be wheel bearing needs replacement. but since the sound comes after changing rims n tyres, best u check the tyres for deformity.

What type of tyres did you replaced?

Sports or M&S type will be louder.

Also not ruling out wheel hub bearings too.

take a photo and post the tyre pattern to observe.

Likely need a bearing replacement. Try to hear where the sound is from...left or rgith rear...then ask someone to sit there and if the passenger feels any vibration.

If it is, better get it changed before it affects other parts.

If you want to replace your bearings, (remember 1 set of 2) go down to GS Auto at Owen Road. for Toyota original Toyota parts without the cut throat price.

They have contacts too.. ask them for workshop. barget no frills type or premium stylo workshop.

Its not expensive or high tech replacement works.

Might be wheel bearing. Same sound I had about a month ago and got it changed. Mine was front right. Get your mechanics to check asap.

Wheel bearing, if you hear the "woong woong" sound...Slow speed not detectable, but above 60kmh it starts to get more obvious.
