last night channel 8 performance had to be one of the worst in recent years

 

and got so many korean songs that the local artistes themselves can't even lip sync

 

made me wonder if this was a korean countdown party

I think Gangnam Style was performed twice also, once a dance and another acapella by this PRC group. What the hell Gangnam has got to do with SG is beyond me.

I happened to watch some of the MediaCorp New Year celebration last night.

Wasn't expecting such a mediocre performance by the invited artistes in general.

But what was most surprising was the VW golf mk 7 sitting atop the stage and all the advertisements and segments.

Anyone was put off by this? I certainly was. Why would MediaCorp invite such a marketing ploy for a big event like this? Surely something could be done in light of the COE situation.

(I'm not against VW btw - just think the marketing is too aggressive)

This is just one of the endless ones. Many Ch8 shows in evening are basically advertisements disguised as foodie shows or fashion discovery or what not. It is just basically one big TV ad company.

Surprising still ppl watching Singapore countdown party.. -.-" usually I tune to watch overseas countdown party rather than wasting time watching..

By the way,just tested the latest Golf,car was nice,price was reasonable,but the DSG gearbox got some 'problem',sometime cannot upshift[hold on to 3rd gear],,salesman also don't know what is the problem....!Is this the common DSG problem.?

I also tested the new golf with no problem at all.

Don't bluff lah. You sell VW one issit? You know VW gearbox reputation is quite bad now? VAGS forum got a loooong list of pple kpkb about their gearbox.

My test drive unit is the Macpherson's unit,black colour,is it same as yours.?

Best thing was the fireworks which I tuned-in for. But saw this Micapella thingy and saw frisbees or trash being thrown at them, well deserved! [rifle]

 

 

 

I was at there..ya many pple throw the frisbee label vw logo...it was very fun trying to catch it..

No, I did my test drive at Alexandra. I agree with you that the price is actually quite reasonable in view of the current super high COE.

VW aside....i do agree the performance by local artistes really suck and cannot make it.

 

such an amaterish performance and singing. even malaysian astro artistes can sing better CNY albums than our locals.

 

lipsync is the keyword...and has been like this for yrs le...and they always feel..if they can imitate ..they are great <_< ..yeah..go imitate monkeys la...if they can do that well...then i'll take my hat off to them [:p]
