Pisces69 6th Gear December 29, 2012 Share December 29, 2012 Due for my shock absorber change, wondering if its necessary to change stopper and mounting together? U can remove shocks then chk stopper n mounts fr wear. I usually change stopper cos its cheap. Mount usually can last 10yrs. Remember to do a 4 wheel computerised alignment to get everything back to factory specs even if e mech say no need. Good alignment improves handling n roadholding n yr tires wil last much longer. Furrynadz 5th Gear December 29, 2012 Share December 29, 2012 everything mount+stopper+bearing+bolts compressed mounts n bearings will cause premature failure of new absorber as its not in the correct aligned position
ER-3682 Twincharged December 29, 2012 Share December 29, 2012 Usually for my car, always the stopper wear out first, but in the end changed both the stopper & the shock absorbers, because mechanic said stopper is very cheap, but the labour is more,so not worth changing the stoppers only.
