Beat traffic light then Hit and run..this time is

Would like to ask about the definition of "beating" and "running" red light.

The cna reported that the motorcyclist had "beaten" a red light.

I had always thought "beating red light" means vehicle crossed the line before the red light comes on. Hence strictly not at fault but still rash.

And that "running" red light means crossing line after red light comes on and hence at fault.

One tries to beat the red light by accelerating to cross the line before the red light comes on. One has beaten the red light if one suceeds?

yup when crossing road, please stop looking at phone, always keep your eye on the oncoming vehicle...

very often people just keep looking at their phone while crossing the road, if anything would happen, you share half the blame.

Once after book out from reservist at JURONG camp 2.. I'm waiting to turn right at a cross junction .. A 'P plate biker keep blowing his exhaust while weaving thru traffic to get to the front, upon turning right while green man, he had the cheek to horn at the pedestrian.. Damn.. Ppl like dis should get their licence revoked.. 'P plate some more.. Failure to give way at pedestrian crossing is enough to take away his pathetic 12 points already.. Damn it..

How is it possible the motorbike didn't fall? But it looks so real I couldn't doubt its authencity. Feels sad for the victim, hope he or she is not too badly hurt.

Hard to say. Sometimes he hit at certain angle so never lose control. It's possible but very rare.

I wonder if victim was badly hurt? Maybe just clipped abit? Maybe 5mins she sit at side of road then walk home?

But I do hope she was not seriously injured.

I would have feel like kill him on the spot. My area Bt Batok East Ave 3,

bikers blow exhaust is a nightly affair. And I notice a common factor

among them.

Agree. As a precuationary measure, please inform everyone when crossing the road..

1. No using of mobile phone or mobile device

2. No listening to "walkman"

3. DO not let the children cross the road especially when the children is shorter than the height of the car bonnet (<1.2m)

4. NO riding of bicycle. Dismount bike when crossing

5. No reading of magazine, newspaper...

The rules still stay... look out for vehicle approaching the junction.. DO not take things for granted.

Any more to add?

Just because you're dressed up to go out doesn't make you immune to the laws of physics?

What made it annoying was that she'd never checked before crossing the road, and yes she had been wearing earphones. I did my usual polite tap of the horn before a louder one, and she didn't bother to turn around at all.

Sources from the investigation informed that the lady is alive (not sure about the current condition).

Rider was drunk-riding-speeding-whatever and abandoned his bike after the collision, then returned back to the scene later. The bike was a Suzuki GSXR600.

That's all i got.

Maybe the biker went to look for a scapegoat?

now walking on green man and kana knocked down also share half the blame.

next time you cheong red light and knocked down someone on green man,you go tell the judge that the pedestrian was not looking for oncoming car so they have to share half the blame with you. ok?
