Not investigate, but more to relook at whether our education system have off tracked. Primary and secondary main role is to provide education and also to be affordable for every parents. Why need to ask parents to buy electronic gadgets in sec school? It seems like the education system starts to deviate abit. If it is poly or uni understandable, but secondary school leh? It should goes with the most cost effective and not burden parents even more to fork out electronic gadgets.

 

Now they u-turn stating it is common for students to own android and iPhone now so don't need ipad already. It's a failed implementation in the 1St place. Hopefully this can goes to the history book and in the future, any principal or teachers who tried to be clever and want to use new gadgets at out of parents pocket expenses, hope MOE to come down straight and reject and give them hush lecture on the history lesson on what happened in the past of the failed implementation.

 

If principal tries to explain their way out said this time is different. Tell them, if they dont like it they can find job outside, we don't need kay kiang principal.

Maybe Maris Stella High managed the process a bit better or got the buy in from the parents first ?

 

The impression I get from the River Valley High case is that he initiated and implemented it and the parents did not have any choice. So that could have also made him a few "friends" in the process.

 

For me, I would balk at the iPad thingy too as it is a costly item and I think it should be availed on home PC platform too.
