Is it cheaper to 'rent' the vacuum machine at hifi installation shop?

I also want to clean my car for Christmas n CNY.

What is the cheapest portable 12v vacuum cleaner now?

Compressed air powered vacuum cleaner is the best for garage and industrial equipment cleaning as it can take water , oil and other non combustible fluid. Easy to maintain, very light and handy to carry around.

The only problem for car owners is where to get the compressed air supply? If you approach those enterprising garage owners , I am very sure some would love to sell their compressed air especially during low demand time. It's a great way for them to make more money from idling source.

Is it true that VW cars have a 240V plug in addition to the standard 12V plugs? If they do, then just need to plug their home vacuum cleaner into the 240V plug (presumably with the car engine running).

Those rechargeable or 12V type of vacuum cleaner just won't do! No suction power.

It's very tough for the car battery and the alternator. Assuming that the vacuum cleaner has a 0.5hp motor = 373 watt. Convert 373 watt to 12volt, the amperage will be 31 amp continuous output. Very very taxing on the battery and alternator.

If you need to use 12volt battery to directly powered a electrical appliance via inverter, always try to use deep cycle batteries and do direct connections.
