Hydrocarbon Turbocharged May 31, 2013 Share May 31, 2013 I got unlimited top up too! Why are you guys paying? At my old company can pump free Nitrogen too. Got own compressor and tanks, so just set up the charge, wait lunch hour nobody see, and just pump. Just too bad I have no car, haha! But can use the compressed nitro / compressed air for other things too, like cleaning interior of company vehicles, or launching projectiles like missiles like that. A bit childish, but fun to play with. Anyone wanna go work at my old company? Free Nitro, haha.. ↡ Advertisement

Paddie 3rd Gear May 31, 2013 Share May 31, 2013 Stamford Tyres in Jurong has free nitrogen, there is a sign which says for customers only but so far I've never seen the staff stop people who just drive in and top up.
5936 1st Gear May 31, 2013 Share May 31, 2013 if its not the regular tires they sell, its most probably a free rider.ST will not make a fuss out of petty things I have seen them talking to driver who pumped half way and drive away. Maybe embarrassed especially in front of other drivers around the workshop.

Rustyz 5th Gear May 31, 2013 Share May 31, 2013 Must be joke to offer nitrogen gas for road tyres. This idea original for aeroplanes due to high altitudes and temp. For road tyres, most important is dry compressed air. Somehow I feel petrol kiosk air not dry. Maybe never install dryer.
Yuan 6th Gear May 31, 2013 Share May 31, 2013 I paid abt that but i get free unlimited top ups so spread over several years.....its not ex to me. Something like maint free battery. Cost a bit more but saves me time n trouble. If it is one time payment, then I think it is fine and acceptable. However, if it is every time, then I think it is expensive. Yeobh 4th Gear June 1, 2013 Share June 1, 2013 Other reasons for high moisture content is due to poorly installed air pipes and low quality and quantity of oil filters and air dryers. Since they are provided free of charge there is nothing much to complaint.
5936 1st Gear June 1, 2013 Share June 1, 2013 You are right that its just an ordinary air compressor with no air dryer.Which petrol kiosk will drain water from its air tank daily?
Yixiang1 3rd Gear June 1, 2013 Share June 1, 2013 time to save your $$$ THANKS FOR this informative share... Nitrogen is really just a gimmick that tyre shops try to make u feel u are getting something better/more from them.,
Pisces69 6th Gear June 2, 2013 Share June 2, 2013 THANKS FOR this informative share... Nitrogen is really just a gimmick that tyre shops try to make u feel u are getting something better/more from them., I used to feel that way too b4 i pumped nitro. After i tried...i find it much more convenient. I dun need to specially go to a petrol pump nearby when my tires r cold just to top up air every week. I get my tires chked n topped up at e place which i pump nitro every 2-3 months only. Saves me a lot of time n trouble.
Track 2nd Gear June 2, 2013 Share June 2, 2013 My WS pump nitrogen when I service the car. In between servicing, I pump tyre at the normal petrol kiosk with air. Is this ok?
Pisces69 6th Gear June 2, 2013 Share June 2, 2013 My WS pump nitrogen when I service the car. In between servicing, I pump tyre at the normal petrol kiosk with air. Is this ok? I prefer to just keep pumping nitro to get as much oxygen n other gasses out if e tire. Cos when e pressure drops..its mostly e oxygen that seeps out. So after u pump a few times....u gonna hv almost 100% nitro n e pressure wil hardly drop anymore. If u keep pumping air....yr pressure wil keep dropping every couple of weeks. Defeats e purpose of pumping nitro in e first place. ↡ Advertisement
