you talking about the AFF cup?

don't know which lion will turn up tonight, if its the same lions that played against malaysia and the pinoys in the last match, then i say we will knock them out.

if they play like the way the played against laos, then its goodbye...

Seriously is it that the pinoys have improved so much or simply are we getting worse? In the past, a match against the Philippines is like considered a walk over for us. These days its like evenly matched and outcome not so certain. [rolleyes]

they have improved a lot,

their results in the AFF cup group stages, lose to thailand 1-2 in bangkok, beat vietnam 1-0 and myanmar 2-0...

most of their player are based in europe.

i find Singapore national team play very predictable. its almost always either punting long ball up for duric or having shaiful Ishak and khairul amri trying to dribble their way through hoping to lure a tackle and get a free kick.

last time it is 100% pinoy then they change their recruitment policy and went to dig up every professional player in the world with a slight hint of pinoy roots and get them to play for them......

now alot of them are professionals in other leagues including in europe

talking about pinoy team.. I remember I was playing Football Manager.. then I saw this only selectable player called Phil Younghusband..in the Philipines National Team I was thinking what kind of name is this? young husband? Must be a player generated by the game.. Till i saw him play against Singapore in the semi.

I have to say he is one hell of a player.

They have quite a few half blood playing in European leagues. The Younghusband brothers used to be with Chelsea Youth. Paul Mulders plays in the Dutch 1st Div with Dan Haag. Jerry Lucena in the Danish 1st Div and 2 other players in the German league. The is the upside of sowing your oats far and away. :D

Chelsea He plays as a striker and turned professional in March 2005, having been at Chelsea since the age of nine. Younghusband was the youth team's top scorer in the 2003

Jia lat....but I thought we also import lots of players to beef up our squad? so Philippines improved by an awful lot and we improved very little or not at all after importing so many foreign talents?

Theirs not considered 'import'. They actually have Filipino blood and according for FIFA regulations, a player can trace 2 generations upwards to be eligible to play for the particular FA. i.e Ryan Giggs for Wales becoz his grandmother is Welsh iirc.

Many foreign seeds were planted in their local 'nursery'... Think the pinoys are the original spgs. The angmos sure like the pinas!

so that's what you wanted to say all the time but beat around the bush

soccer is not something that oh pinoys improved alot so if we still beat them 7-0 means we improve equally...

even barca and RM cannot win all the cups after buying so many players and with messi and ronaldo
