Iphone, M1 & new OS

My iphone network is getting bad to worst and when I checked with M1, they will exchange 1 for 1.

However when I am at their Service Centre, the new iphone comes with a the latest OS which google map can no longer be use.

 

Got any apps for the google map under the new OS?

Anyway to down grade to the old OS?

no way to downgrade.

 

the new maps are not so bad. used a couple of times, as long as you dont use hybrid view you should be fine. i also use the navfone app from time to time.

you can download google map seperately.

But no navigation.

the iOS 6 map is fine for Singapore, it come with turn-by-turn voice like other gps :)

I tried finding places like #40 Lor 8 Geylang...

There is no street view and so I cannot see which house....

 

Later go there found to be houses that I boycott will waste alot of time & petrol.

Google lor. Unless the replacement still has the old ios5 shsh files, dan yes. But you will have to DL third party software to your pc to extract the shsh files, save the file, reload the ios5 DL from some website and reload the shsh files. See youtube for step by step. If you dunno what's going on I suggest you forget it.

 

 

Let me ask you a question first. Are the Google maps so important to you? I mean do you travel so much around the world that you actually use them regularly? Have you tried using the new map app in sgp. Did it gave you problems? I tried using it in sgp. It seems fine. It did not direct me to a big longkang.

 

If you are really doubtful dan dl the streetdirectory app for local map but it does not have navigation. It will help you get directions for car, bus, mrt and even est taxi fare and not to mention erp rates if you happen to enter one.

 

For free navigation it will be the waze app, not that bad considering it's free. Map accuracy I think it's fairly accurate. Real time traffic conditions fed by other users are good to know info. You can contribute too if you get stuck in a jam or see a traffic accident, so as to let other users know.

I had been using the standard map since 2009 so when I am unsure about the actual location, I just click the "person icon" and I can see streetview.

I will try the street directory app later on and comment whether I like it or not.
