Toyota is still producing the "old" looking toyota crown as a cab. Transcab and Silver Cab are still using them but those on the roads are registered before the new Euro V requirement comes in. That's why you see Transcab using Epica while Silver Cab is using the new K5.

There are still quite a number of old (6 years +) Toyota Crown and a smaller number of Nissan Cedric (only from SMRT, never saw any from Citicab or Silvercab lately) on the roads. But they'll all be gone by 2014.

btw, why the taxi can not just stick to 1 model, it is not better?

I think due to the Euro V requirement, so taxi companies cannot use the crown and cedric anymore, as they do not meet the Euro V requirement.

if I look at the price in sgcarmart for I40 wagon....at $100,999 without COE...I wonder why someone will go for it...at that price....one can get a Ford Mondeo with a very much solid drive and powerful engine....can even get a volvo S60 T4...

It is up to the Cab Company to decide and Cab Companies will not put all their eggs in one basket.
