Altivo 3rd Gear December 14, 2012 Share December 14, 2012 (edited) My suggestions. Those in red are something to fill up the day. Taipei 101 (Taipei Station) - note Taipei 101 is not at Taipei Main Station- Take blue line to Taipei City Hall Station Xinyi District - this is where Taipei 101 is anyway. Wu Fen Pu - can start after lunch but don't go on a Monday.- Take blue line to Hou Shan Pi Raohe night Market National Palace Museum - Take red line to Shilin station and then a bus- Go in the early morning when it first open. You can have a headstart before the PRC tourists come. Spend 2-3 hours there Beitou - Take red line to either Beitou or Xin Beitou station - Have lunch and then go for a dip at the hotspring. That should take up the remaining afternoon. Shilin - Take red line to Jian Tan Station Jiu Fen - take a train (not MRT) from Taipei Main Station to Ruifang. Alight and take a bus to Jiu Fen, Bus ride is about 15 mins. Thought of a visit to PingXi, Shifen as well since you're making a trip out of taipei city. Anyway, they are not far from each other. Visit the Taipei Zoo and Maokong Gondola. Then go to the Ferris Wheel since since it's on the same Brown "muzha" line Miramar Ferris Wheel Morning go eat 永和豆漿大王 - Xi Men Ding got one outlet Then go Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall for a visit. Danshui - can be done after lunch Yu Ren Ma Tou (nothing much there to see honestly) Didn't go these places so no comment: Luxy (Zhong Xiao Dun Hua Station) Leo Fu Chun theme park Edited December 14, 2012 by Altivo

Altivo 3rd Gear December 14, 2012 Share December 14, 2012 Thanks for the pointers, appreciate it!! No problem bro. You might wanna go to this forum too http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/taiwan-291/ There are quite a few experts there. Some are Singaporeans working in Taiwan so they can even give you pointers like which bus to take, where to eat etc.

Ahwhye 5th Gear December 14, 2012 Share December 14, 2012 (edited) Leo Fu Chun theme park this Leo foo village theme park is in Hsinchu, quite a distance from taipei and pretty ulu place. u may want to spent one night at its theme park hotel, its rooms are overlooking a small open concept zoo with zebra, giraffe, deer, cow etc roaming around, quite an amazing experience especially for the kids, and spend the day in the theme park. if you just want to do a day trip, then you better book a taxi to/fro taipei and also can spend an hour or two on some other places in taoyuan or hsinchu. (if u want i can go dig up a contact for u) Edited December 14, 2012 by Ahwhye
Heartlander Turbocharged December 14, 2012 Share December 14, 2012 If the places of interests are nearby, and there are 3 or 4 of you, it is better to take taxi which is cheap and easily available. For my recent trip, I stayed opposite Taipei Main station and commute to a few famous night markets and Taipei 101 using taxi. The taxi uncles there also quite chatty, and can recommend interesting places. Best of all, you can negotiate booking of whole cab for few hours or whole day as most of them offer these services. Save the hassle as it will be door-to-door kind of services. Prices definitely reasonable if you traveling with 2 or 3 people.
13177 Hypersonic December 14, 2012 Share December 14, 2012 (edited) Wondering anything to see at the Maokong Gondola? Other than the taipei 101, any other places in taipei also have countdown activities on 31 dec? Edited December 14, 2012 by 13177
Mazdaowner Moderator December 14, 2012 Share December 14, 2012 Thanks again!! Pick up a map at the airport, and you can see on the map, the places of interest, locations, so you'll be able to plan where to go. National Palace Museum, go early, and bring passport, somethings they have free entry to tourist. Check their website to see. Danshui, take the ferry which is S$1 over to Pali island. Fisherman's wharf nothing to see except the sunset, if going with wife, a nice walk down the long jetty at sunset would be very nice.

Mazdaowner Moderator December 14, 2012 Share December 14, 2012 Thanks for the info, I will be going with my girlfriend... so the walk down the long jetty at sunset seems attractive to me Two ferries in Danshui, one to Pali one to fisherman's wharf, no need take bus or cab. S$1 one way. After the walk, you can go makan at the restaurant in Fisherman's wharf, enjoy the night breeze and LIVE band. ↡ Advertisement
