I am the best in what I do, & what I do is very very bad---Woverine in Woverine Origin.

On a serious note, of course I am very good in what I do, to get the job I am doing, but I am not of the illusion that I am not irreplaceable.

Even top footballers & actors get repalced. They g, someone take their place.

To me, its not as important to what you are good at, then what did you do at what you good at. For me, I am rather good at Visual art, particularly 3D design, more specifically 3D character design, although I do not do it professionally (as like every Singapore kid, they say if you do art, you eat grass. That was about right then, now, maybe different). My art have been feature in an internaltional magazine ( one full page) so I must be doing ok. [:p]

But I self taught & do some art/design stuff, post it on the net, shjow my progress to share with other. I also provide my 2 cents to give critics to others, & help the beginners; knowledge sharing you may say. Our lifetime is limited, & you can't take anything away, Knowledge is one of the most important thing we can pass on to people.

For sure I do not have the formulae to cure of AIds or world hunger, but I am happy to be contributting my limited knowledge on what ever subjects I can provide.

Had a depressing conversation with one of my friends and found out the bleak truth to the meaning of life.

Put Religion/spiritural aside, it seems that we do not have a skill/ talent/ knowledge or subject that we are very good at, that we are proud off and that people recognize. That's how "loser" we were. Just another "background character" in the mass population of the human race. Very depressing thought.

So folks, do you have anything you are particular good at and proud of. Things that you are so good you can go professional if you choose to. Things that people/friends around you recognized it as your "Talent".

Were you ever being labelled "The blahblah expert"? Have you ever heard people has "what to know more about <skill/hobby/talent>, just ask <your name>! Care to share how you do it, why you do it and how you "make it"?

Some example of what some people are good at:

- Singing

- Tracking (racing in tracks)

- Marathons, football, Martial Arts and various sports.

- Guitar/piano/music

- Graphic design

- Photography

- Computers and Programming

- Arts, painting, model building

etc.

Of course, Some things are worth more that the others. eg: Good at sleeping is not a talent, good at PCC/tikoing are not useless.

Does it matter? The girls like me as I am, not what I can do.

I am blessed with the ability to sell myself well. That is probably why, when I am called for job interviews, I get job offers more often than not.

In this age where a degree in something becomes a mere commodity, I think the gift of the gap is a very useful tool. By the Grace of God, it has allowed me to somehow provide for the family reasonably well.
