Sosaria Twincharged November 27, 2012 Share November 27, 2012 ... Also important to have the transfer done asap. I prefer to do the transfer at same time with money being handed over whether i'm the buyer or seller. ... Yes, this is what I don't like, that the process of transferring takes some time, before the record is updated, and then get letter from LTA. In the meantime, you are still registered owner of the car which is no longer in your hands. Anything happen, finger point at you. Very easy for LTA - but really a terrible way of shoving off responsibility. I mean, SandP agreement signed already, by right, is a clear indication that your car is already in somebody else's hands. Just like your maid run away, MOM still make you, the employer, responsible for anything that happen and bear the cost. Kind of unfair, and just to make it very convenient for the authority. ↡ Advertisement
Shor 1st Gear November 27, 2012 Share November 27, 2012 Nowadays selling car on our own a little obstacle. Rarely find one willing to do finance ( if got loan ). If cash payment it will be easier. Just because of the Lemon Law .

Jaglim Neutral Newbie November 27, 2012 Share November 27, 2012 Twice i sold to direct buyer, saves me abt 5-7K compared to trade-in. The last buyer took up a loan and the deal was done by his creditor and myself in LTA. In my opinion: * limit or try tell buyer no test drive unless price is ok (of course, dont peg against advertised rate, buyer must save at least 2K buying direct). * Insist on cashier order for payment. * prepare relevant document for buyer to sign (i use standard format from SGCarmart)
Tvios 2nd Gear November 29, 2012 Author Share November 29, 2012 Yes they r truely suckers. I do a few calls and can sense they budget a min $10K profit for being the middle man. In my opinion, the dealer price ur car base on scrap + certain %, and if ur car is accident free and in good condition then certainly no point selling to dealer. One lady dealer also frankly said they need spend money to spruce up the car and make it look nice. Thumbs up for this. Basically he covered everything. I just sold my autowrx to a direct buyer and the process was easy & smooth because i have someone who did the paper work/insurance/loan etc for the new buyer and myself. Downside is that you probably have 10-20 viewers who said they are highly interested but in the end put aeroplane. Well, of course i did understand this and thus would say the same thing myself i were to buy a car. I was probably lucky, managed to sell the car to my 5th viewer at my desired price and still well about 8k of what dealers are willing to take in. First thing i asked them was.."Have you gotten a insurance qoute for a WRX?" and of course their age/ncd etc. If not, dont waste time to test drive if you are not comfortable with high insurance premiums. Dealers are worst, they are not called blood suckers for nothing. Wanting to take in my car at almost 10k-15k off "market" price. Of course, i told them to screw off. taracarroll Neutral Newbie April 30 Share April 30 There are various apps or websites available where you can sell your car. These companies inspect your car and prepare a detailed report based on which they offer you the best price quotes. The second way to sell your car is through friends and relatives from where you can easily sell them and get the best price deal for your car. ↡ Advertisement
