theoretically its only a 1.5 goal advantage.. but good job none the less!!

Its the best performance Ive seen for a long time..totally out play out class the Thais!

What impressed me the most yesterday night was Singapore's passing accuracy. [thumbsup]

The thai keeper was good too.. this compeitition I've seen a number of good keepers. The pinoy keeper is another ace. Singapore's keeper I feel shaky...a pity that Lionel Lewis retired..

disagree on the sg keeper part, he is damn zhai, no frills shot stopper... especially if you watch him in all suzuki cup matches.. I think at most 1 error nia

2 clean sheets against the bigger size pinoys is testament to it

in fact I find the thai keeper not as good, good at shot stopping but not good at crosses, handling also abit suspect

i agree with your assessment of the lions keeper.

i think i am still very old fashion, but i believe goalkeeper must be tall & big size...

the thais seem to have much difficulty in handling crosses and corners from singapore.

if duric and sharil are sharper in front of goal, the scoreline might be 5-1 liao.

and although the singapore keeper did well in this tournament overall, i still feel he will not go far due to his size, of course, i hope he prove me wrong.

last time world cup the colourful Mexican gk comes to mind... as long as we are not against European cup, he should do ok... asians are generally smaller size

the good thing about smaller size keeper is you save grounders faster as you go to ground faster

sometimes superb defending makes goalie' a superhero in the making

shaiful esah was to blame for the thai goal, he became a prima donna for that instant and refuse to track back after losing the ball

singapore defence is good indeed...

but sometimes i see liao very scared, inside penalty box also go in for sliding tackle, very easy to give away penalty [knife]

true, but i must add he is a much improved player in terms of defending ability.

i used to see him as only good in whipping in crosses and corners but nothing worthy in defending.

I feel he lack presence. A keeper needs to dominate his 6 yard box and command the defence.

I think our defence makes him look better then he really is. just my observation. [:)]

that's why..

tiny lapse in defending can be very costly.. [sweatdrop]

actually if you are agile enough, u do not need to be tall and big size.. (Y? because I wasn't tall and big and yet I was a damn good goalie last time [laugh] jking) of course minimum u must be able to reach over the cross bar when you jump la.

Main thing is that you must have that commanding presence in the 6 yard box. go for every ball with confidence.

in singapore context, this reminds me of david lee, always comes for crosses with confidence and then fark his defenders [laugh]

that is what will kill them in Thailand... if the lions concentrate and play their game, no way the thais can penetrate them.

Our defence is very solid. just absorb the play and catch the Thais by counter attacking and we may even win the second leg! [:)]
